College Football Betting Update – Week 5 Betting Recap

October 5, 2010

Week 5 in college football betting was full of excitement as several big games took place and changed the dynamics of the Top 25 and the road to the BCS Championship game.

Louisiana State vs Tennessee:

In a last-second win that can only be described as crazy, LSU is now 5-0 as the Tigers defeated the Tennessee Volunteers 16-14.

After a fumbled LSU snap at arguably the final seconds of the game, Tennessee began to celebrate its victory.

However, Tennessee was then penalized for having too many players on the field, and this penalty gave LSU one last down to play at the one-yard line. LSU’s Steven Ridley then ran the ball in for the game-decisive touchdown.

Texas vs Oklahoma: Red River Rivalry

Now the season just can’t end soon enough for Texas, as the Longhorns suffered their second loss in a row and will likely fall out of the Top 25 for the first time in 192 weeks. Texas lost a sloppy effort to the Sooners 20-28, although Texas appeared to have more talent, but just did not play a game deserving of a win.

Next up for the Horns and college football picks fans after a bye week is a trip to Lincoln, Nebraska to face the high-ranking Cornhuskers.

Florida vs Alabama:

Number 1 Alabama continues to roll, as they defeated their SEC rival, the Florida Gators, in decisive fashion 31-6. The Gators were essentially overwhelmed in the matchup as Heisman winner Mark Ingram rushed for two touchdowns and CJ Mosley returned an interception for a score.

Only once in head coach Urban Meyer’s six seasons at Florida have the Gators lost so badly. These two teams could potentially meet up again this season for the SEC title game, but it’s quite clear for NCAAF betting fans who the best is.

Other top college football Sports betting teams winning in action include Ohio State, who defeated Illinois 24-13, while Oregon defeated Stanford 52-31, Boise State defeated New Mexico State 59-0 and TCU won over Colorado State 27-0.
