Best ATS Home Teams in the 2008 College Football Season

The college football betting season is nearly here! Check out BetOnline Sportsbook’s list of the best ATS teams that you should be ready to bet on when they’re at home as we get ready to kick off the ’09 season! Use these College Football Betting Tips to your advantage:

California Golden Bears (7-0 ATS at home in 2008) Berkley was absolutely a hellacious place for opponents to play in 2008. Save Michigan State dropping 31 points in the opening week of the CFB betting season last year, Cal held each of its opponents to 20 points or less. The Golden Bears dropped at least 24 on all of its foes, and averaged a whopping 42.7 points per game. Are you paying attention, USC? Your trip in Cal on October 3 rd won’t be any fun.

TCU Horned Frogs (5-0 ATS at home in 2008) Not only were the Horned Frogs beating the spread in their games in Fort Worth, they were destroying it. TCU averaged beating the football betting lines by an average of 12.1 points per game. The defense was particularly strong in those five home games, as its opponents only scored a grand total of 45 points. The Frogs dropped more than that on Wyoming by themselves.

Arizona Wildcats (6-1 ATS at home in 2008) Arizona may have been an absolutely miserable road team last season, but going into Tucson was a difficult task for the opposition. Only Oregon State bettors walked out of Arizona victorious. The Wildcats crushed Idaho 70-0 to kick off the season, and was equally brutal to sub-par opponents Toledo (41-16) and Washington (48-14). Even mighty USC struggled all game with Arizona in the desert before picking up a 17-10 victory.

North Carolina State Wolfpack (5-1 ATS at home in 2008) Looking for an impressive statistic? The last time the Wolfpack lost a game ATS was back on September 27 th of last season. Does that date sound familiar? It was also the last time the Florida Gators failed to cover a spread. The oddsmakers simply never caught up with NC State last season, as they didn’t line the Wolfpack as favorites once the entire year. Dating back to the middle of the ’07 season, NC State is 8-2 ATS in Raleigh.

Tulsa Golden Hurricane (5-1 ATS at home in 2008) The Golden Hurricane put together an absolutely lethal offensive attack last season, and that attack put up a whopping 55.3 points per game at home. The only reason those numbers were kept down was thanks to East Carolina’s 27-24 upset victory over the Golden Hurricane in the C-USA Championship game. In its four regular season Conference USA games, Tulsa averaged 61.3 points per contest and won each game by at least 30 points.

Rice Owls (5-1 ATS at home in 2008) Rice may have been crippled by Tulsa on the road, but when it came to playing home games, there weren’t many better teams in the land. Much like the Golden Hurricane, the Owls had a tendency of dropping some fairly ridiculous numbers on their opponents. They averaged scoring 51.2 points per game in Houston.
