Florida International: +27 ½
Texas A&M: -27 ½

Texas A&M enters this game 2-0 after two convincing wins to open the season. Granted they were against Stephen F. Austin and Louisiana Tech, but still. Aggies fans are excited about this squad, and with good reason.
A&M is led by maybe the best quarterback in the Big XII, Jerrod Johnson. Johnson enters this game ranked fifth in college football, having already thrown for 671 yards on the year, and six touchdowns, without tossing a single interception. Not too shabby.

The running game around him has been dynamite as well, led by a pair of sophomores, Cyrus Gray and Christine Michael. Michael has been the leader of this unit so far, as on the young season he has had back-to-back 100+ yard rushing games, including last weekend when he averaged 7.6 yards per carry against Stephen F. Austin. Between the running and passing games, this might be the most dynamic offense in the Big XII.
The team that is tasked with stopping it of course is that of Florida International.
The Golden Panthers opened their season last weekend with a loss, but a good one to the Rutgers Scarlet Knights. In that contest, they actually led 14-13 heading into the fourth quarter, before a late touchdown sealed their loss.
For Florida International to stay competitive in this one, they’ll need to get the ball in the hands of their best playmaker, running back Jeremiah Harden. The sophomore had a big opening night against Rutgers, rushing for 88 yards on 15 carries, while also catching three balls out of the backfield for big gains as well. Quarterback Wesley Carroll split time in the opener, but is expected to play most this weekend.
Either way, the Golden Panthers have their backs against the wall headed into the college football betting this weekend. Even after a strong showing against Rutgers, Texas A&M should still be your pick.
The Aggies really are as strong as they’ve looked so far this year, and are a major player in the Big XII South. While a lot is still to be decided, they’ll be able to put up points on anyone. Remember, as good as Florida International looked last weekend, they had an extra week to prepare for Rutgers and got them at home. With a quick turnaround and trip to College Station, they won’t be so lucky this week.
There are a lot of reasons to take Texas A&M in the college football betting this weekend, but rather than going through all them, just understand that the Aggies are a better team. A much better one.
Playing in front of their home fans for last time before getting a bye and hitting the road, they’ll leave no doubt.
