The #13 Syracuse Orange versus the #15 Louisville Cardinals is the biggest early game in the college basketball betting on Saturday, February 12th.
The Orange taking on the Cardinals isn’t the only early Big East game on Saturday. The #7 Notre Dame Irish takes on South Florida. The other early game on Feb. 12th pits #18 Kentucky versus #24 Vanderbilt.

Feb. 12th– NCAA BB Games
** Records and stats not counting Thursday and Friday games.
#7 Notre Dame Irish (20-4) at South Florida Bulls (8-17)
Where: Purcell Pavilion, Notre Dame, Indiana
When: 12:00 pm EST
Fair Basketball Odds: South Florida +11 ½
Analysis: South Florida almost pulled off the huge college basketball moneyline odds upset over the Marquette Golden Eagles on Feb. 9th. As +6 point home dogs, the Bulls managed to push the Golden Eagles to the edge of a defeat in a 58 to 59 loss. Notre Dame is supposedly a better team than Marquette, but South Florida has gone 4 and 1 against the spread in their last 5 games overall. I’m picking South Florida to cover in this game based on my belief that the Irish will be a huge double-digit favorite over the Bulls. I’ll take the points in that case. If ND is only a 7 ½ point road favorite or less, then they’re the team to back ATS.
#13 Syracuse Orange (20-5) at #15 Louisville Cardinals (18-6)
Where: KFC Yum Center, Louisville, Kentucky
When: 12:00 pm EST
Fair Basketball Odds: Syracuse +3 ½
Analysis: The Orange had every right to beat Georgetown in their 56 to 64 loss to the Hoyas on Feb. 9th as -5 point home favorites in the online college basketball sportsbook. The ‘Cuse allowed G’Town to out point them by 10, 35 to 25, in the second half. Syracuse should bounce back versus Louisville on Saturday. The Cardinals are good but I don’t believe they’re as good as Syracuse. I see the Orange as a possible bet on the moneyline depending on what the odds makers set the against the spread line at.
#18 Kentucky Wildcats (17-6) at #24 Vanderbilt Commodores (16-6)
Where: Memorial Gymnasium, Nashville, Tennessee
When: 1:00 pm EST
Fair Basketball Odds: Vanderbilt -2 ½
Analysis: Kentucky and Vanderbilt are almost mirror images of each other making this a very difficult game to handicap in the basketball betting sportsbook. KU averages 76.9 points per game. The Wildcats give up 62.7 points per game. Vanderbilt averages 77.9 points and gives up 66.9 points per. I’m giving the edge to the Commodores in this game because I believe that the odds makers are going to make Vandy a less than -3 point favorite in the sportsbook and that Kentucky is a less than spectacular team on the road this season going 3 and 5 ATS.
