These two teams are both in need of a big time win right now, but for completely differing reasons.
We’ll start with the Buffaloes, who appear to be on life support for any hopes for the NCAA Tournament. Things are getting so bad that they might not even be an NIT team right now.
The rest of this schedule in the regular season is at least remotely manageable, but a win either here or against the Texas Longhorns, along with at least five more wins in conference play including the Big XII Tournament would probably be the only way to get into the dance.
We know if the Buffs are going to go anywhere with college basketball predictions in this one, they’re going to need a huge game from Alec Burks. Burks is averaging 19.5 points per game this year, and he is one of the top rebounders on the squad as well with 6.0 per night.
However, Burks isn’t alone, as he is getting a ton of help from three other double digit point scorers. Watch closely for Levi Knutson, who is shooting 52.6 percent from the field and 49.0 percent from beyond the arc.
The easy team to make college basketball predictions on is Kansas. After all, the last time the Jayhawks were beaten in a game was against the Texas Longhorns. They came out in that next home game and absolutely blasted the Kansas State Wildcats.
Now, coming off of a road loss (ironically enough to those same Wildcats), we can only imagine what is going through the minds of the kids donning crimson and blue.
Josh Selby should get more than 11 minutes in this game, as this will be his second game back in the lineup after missing almost two full weeks due to injury.
The efficiency of this offense is amazing, as KU is shooting 52.1 percent from the floor this year and is putting up a ridiculous 83.3 points per game. It feels like the Jayhawks can drop 100+ on anyone they want, but we know better.
Colorado really did its best to hang with this team in Boulder, losing by just four points in a closely fought duel the whole way. Don’t be shocked if it happens again. Our college basketball predictions in this one? The Buffs stick inside the number.
SLAM THE BUFFALOES!
