Here are some of the trends that may affect the college basketball odds on this game:
- Syracuse has lost five of its last seven games SU
- Syracuse has covered two of its last seven games
- Syracuse has played its last four games UNDER the total
- Syracuse has won 16 of its last 19 road games SU
- Syracuse has played five of its last seven road games UNDER the total
- Louisville has covered two of its last six games
- Louisville has played four of its last six games UNDER the total
- Louisville has covered two of its last six home games
- Louisville has played five of its last six home games UNDER the total
Syracuse is having a hard time getting out of its own way. After winning the first 18 games of the season, the Orange have lost five of their last seven; a win over UConn was no sign that things were going to turn around, as they lost to Georgetown whole scoring only 56 and failing as a 4.5-point favorite in the college basketball odds. That’s a far cry from all the points they were scoring before.
These are the head-to-head trends that may influence college basketball odds on this matchup:
- Louisville has won the last six meetings SU
- Louisville has covered the last five meetings
- Louisville has had the shooting edge in each of the last five meetings
- Louisville has made more three-pointers in each of the last six meetings
What you may want to look at here that is important is the three-point production coming out of Louisville. this is far from a perfect team, and they certainly have their share of injuries. But that forces them to the perimeter, which is not necessarily a bad thing when you have to deal with Jim Boeheim’s matchup zone. Sure, there is some work for the Cards to do, but Syracuse has not covered numbers all season (7-14 ATS in the college basketball odds), even when things were going well.
Now, things are not going very well. And Syracuse has to battle to get a first-round bye in the Big East tournament. I don’t think it’s going to happen for them. This should be a relatively reasonable number in the college basketball odds, and I think we’d lay it.
