College Basketball Betting – Conference USA Power Poll through 1/11
January 12, 2011
Conference USA had a major shakeup this past week, as the conference’s last undefeated team was finally knocked off.
Tulane is the newcomer atop the men’s college basketball betting poll.
1: Tulane Green Wave (6-0 ATS, 12-3 SU) (LW: 3) – There’s going to be a point that we wonder if the Green Wave are really going to win 20 games this year and compete for a spot in the NCAA Tournament.

2: UAB Blazers (9-4 ATS, 11-3 SU) (LW: 1) – UAB was crushed by the Dookies, but at least it got back on track with a ‘W’ in C-USA to get started this year.
3: Rice Owls (8-4 ATS, 8-8 SU) (LW: 2) – The Owls opened up C-USA play this week with a pair of dreadful defensive efforts to drop them back down to .500.
4: UCF Knights (5-4 ATS, 14-1 SU) (LW: 4) – It was really only a matter of time before someone picked off UCF from the ranks of the unbeatens in men’s college basketball online betting action in C-USA. Didn’t think it’d be Houston though…
5: Tulsa Golden Hurricane (7-6 ATS, 8-7 SU) (LW: 5) – This weird road trip on Wednesday to Arizona State is the last chance to shine outside of C-USA for the Golden Hurricane.
6: UTEP Miners (7-6 ATS, 13-4 SU) (LW: 7) – The OT loss to UAB ended a four game winning streak, but the Miners have still beaten the men’s college basketball betting lines three times in a row.
7: Marshall Thundering Herd (5-4 ATS, 12-4 SU) (LW:
– The Thundering Herd represented themselves well against UCF on the road, and they fired back with a pair of wins to get to a dozen on the year.
8: Southern Mississippi Golden Eagles (4-5 ATS, 12-3 SU) (LW: 6) – Getting blasted by 30 by Marshall was a real wakeup call for the Golden Eagles within C-USA play this year.
9: Houston Cougars (3-4 ATS, 9-6 SU) (LW: 11) – Houston busted out of its slump in a big way, pulling off the men’s college basketball betting upset at home against previously undefeated UCF last week.
10: East Carolina Pirates (3-5 ATS, 8-7 SU) (LW: 9) – ECU hasn’t played a home game since December 7th and hasn’t won a home game against a D-I team since December 1st.
11: SMU Mustangs (2-7 ATS, 9-6 SU) (LW: 10) – Uh-oh SMU. The Mustangs were absolutely romped twice this week in Conference USA play.
12: Memphis Tigers (2-10 ATS, 12-3 SU) (LW: 12) – Memphis lost to Tennessee by 20 last Wednesday, and it really knows that it needs to get back on the winning track in a hurry to go dancing this year.
