Clippers, Portland, Over in Denver/Houston Game Best NBA Bets

February 15, 2011

Backing the L.A. Clippers versus the Milwaukee Bucks, taking Portland minus points versus the Minnesota Timberwolves, and going over in the Denver/Houston game appears to be the best NBA bets on Monday, February 14th.

LAC has fallen on hard times when it comes to the betting spread, but Milwaukee isn’t the best team to back in the sports book. Portland has actually been playing with fire lately and both Denver and Houston score a ton of points. Keep reading for a preview of each game below.

Feb. 14th– NBA Games

Los Angeles Clippers (20-34) at Milwaukee Bucks (20-33)

Where: Bradley Center, Milwaukee, Wisconsin

When: 8:00 pm EST

NBA Odds: Clippers +6

Analysis: The NBA betting odds trends actually favor the Milwaukee Bucks in this contest. Milwaukee is 8 and 2 ATS in their last 10 games following an ATS loss. The Bucks are also 4 and 1 ATS in their last 5 games as a favorite of 5 to 10 ½ points, but the Clippers are 11-3-1 ATS in the last 15 games between these two. LAC is also 5 and 2 ATS in the last 7 meetings between these two in Milwaukee. The Clippers have gone 1 and 4 ATS in their last 5 games. They match up well with the Bucks and should do enough to keep this game within the number tonight.

Portland Trailblazers (30-24) at Minnesota Timberwolves (13-41)

Where: Target Center, Minneapolis, Minnesota

When: 8:00 pm EST

NBA Odds: Portland -2 ½

Analysis: Behind the terrific LaMarcus Aldridge, who is averaging over 22 points of off close to 50% shooting from the field and close to 10 boards per game, the ‘Blazers have gone 3-0-1 against the spread in their last 4 games. Portland is 4 and 0 straight up in their last 4 games. They should be able to make it 5 in a row versus a Minnesota squad that has gone 0 and 2 straight up and ATS in their last 2 games after winning 2 games in a row straight up. Minnesota just isn’t capable of sticking with a hot ‘Blazers team. Aldridge should dominate on Feb. 14th.

Denver Nuggets (31-24) at Houston Rockets (25-30)

Where: Toyota Center, Houston, Texas

When: 8:30 pm EST

NBA Odds: Over 221 ½

Analysis: Houston averages a ridiculous 104.8 points per game. That ranks them 4th in the league. The Rockets also give up 104.8 points per game. That ranks them 24th in the league. Denver averages 107.9 points per game. That’s #1 in the league. The Nuggets give up 105.2 points per game. That’s #25 in the NBA. The last time these two teams met, Denver and Houston played a 103 to 108 game. Although that’s only 211 points, neither team has been very good defensively lately and both teams are going to run up and down the court in this game. I have to go with the over in this contest.
