Cleveland Cavaliers to Throttle Detroit One More Time
April 25, 2009
There’s no more fitting place for Detroit’s reign of terror to come to a screeching halt than at the Palace at Auburn Hills. LeBron and the rest of the Eastern Conference have been knocking down the walls of the once great Detroit Pistons. And now, the Pistons face extinction in the NBA Playoffs thanks to the man that started the downfall two years ago.
#1 Cleveland Cavaliers vs. #8 Detroit Pistons
Friday, April 24th — The Palace of Auburn Hills, Detroit — 7:00pm EST
NBA Betting Line: Cleveland -5 (178)
The one thing I have to wonder is why they’ve put somebody else on LeBron other than Tayshaun Prince. How does Prince not flip out in the locker room when he gets the assignment every night? “I CAN’T GUARD HIM YOU IDIOTS! HE KNOWS IT! I KNOW IT! WATCH THE HIGHLIGHTS! HE’S BLOWING ME UP!!!!
NBA Betting Trends

-The total has gone OVER in 4 of Cleveland’s last 6 games
-Cleveland is 6-2 SU in its last 8 games on the road
-Detroit is 0-5 ATS in its last 5 games
-Detroit is 0-5 SU in its last 5 games
-The total has gone OVER in 4 of Detroit’s last 6 games
-Detroit is 7-18 ATS in its last 25 games at home
-The total has gone OVER in 5 of Detroit’s last 7 games at home
And it’s not going to get any better for Prince, whose Pistons have gone winless against the Cavs and the spread for the entire series. Mike Brown and the Cavs have been blowing up the spread and the Pistons (and Prince) every night thus far. A reduced line with the Cavs at home, and the oddsmakers expecting the Pistons to fight back with their backs against the wall. But they’re seriously outmatched at every conceivable position except power-forward. The only bright side is that Sheed hasn’t opened his dumb mouth and guaranteed a victory.
NBA Furious Free Pick: Cleveland -5 (UNDER)
