Christmas Day NBA Betting Picks – LeBron, Lakers and More!
December 26, 2010
Once again, the David Stern has given a Christmas Day NBA betting bonanza to break up the doldrums of watching your Uncle Jim drink himself in to oblivion. Just because it’s a day for family, friends and loved ones, that doesn’t mean you can’t spend the entire day with your secret mistress in NBA betting. I know I will.
We’re printing this article the day before the games actually have numbers on them, but don’t expect any of the Christmas Day NBA betting matchups to have huge gaps between them. Well except for Blazers-Warriors of course. Let’s break down all the games, which kick off at 12:00pm eastern and run the gambit of the day!
Chicago Bulls @ New York Knicks (12:00pm EST)
Let me just get this out of the way: “AAAAARRRGGHHH!!!” Ok, I’m done. These are two of my favorite Eastern Conference betting teams in the league and I fully expect this matchup to have the tightest NBA betting line of the day. Chicago is a great team but injuries to Joakim Noah and Taj Gibson derail their value in my opinion. The Bulls have yet to face a team since Noah’s injury that boasts a monster in the paint like Stoudemire and I love what he’s doing in Madison Square Garden too much to stray away from him in Christmas Day NBA betting picks.
NBA Pick – New York Knicks

Boston Celtics @ Orlando Magic (2:30pm EST)
Depending on how the Magic come together against San Antonio, there is really no way in hell that you take them against the Boston Celtics. Kevin Garnett and company are 16-0 SU heading in to this game and have gone 8-5-1 ATS in the process. That’s way better than the woeful streak the Magic have put together with their new roster. No reason to kybosh your Christmas Day NBA betting picks by siding with Orlando. Boston is too good in statement games to shy away from.
NBA Pick – Boston Celtics
Miami Heat @ Los Angeles Lakers (5:00pm EST)
This is by far the biggest Christmas Day NBA betting matchup, and we don’t need to dive in to the metrics too much. The Lakers have become one of the worst bets at home and are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games at STAPLES Center. The Miami Heat have found a semblance of rhythm, and the combination of LeBron and Wade will be too much for Kobe to handle, though I will enjoy watching Pau Gasol destroy Chris Bosh.
NBA Pick – Miami Heat
Denver Nuggets @ Oklahoma City Thunder (8:00pm EST)
The number on this game all depends on whether or not Melo is back in uniform following the death of his sister, but regardless I like this matchup for Oklahoma City with or without him. The Thunder excel against teams that don’t have a premier rebounder and that’s enough for me to side with them in a big game.
NBA Pick – Oklahoma City Thunder
Portland Trail Blazers @ Golden State Warriors
The Warriors simply haven’t been the same since David Lee had his elbow surgery, but I still like this team on the upswing heading in to the dead months of winter. It’s obvious that Wesley Matthews and LaMarcus Aldridge are picking up the slack left by Oden, Brandon Roy and Marcus Camby but these guys can’t carry the load forever. I don’t like the Blazers on the road in general, and I think Golden State still has some life left in them, which is why I’m swinging for the fences on the likely home dogs in my final Christmas Day NBA betting pick.
NBA Pick – Golden State Warriors
