Central Florida to Cover the Spread be One of the Best NCAAF Picks

September 18, 2010

Could the Central Florida Knights to cover an 8 ½ point betting spread be one of the best NCAAF picks in the sportsbook this Saturday?

It sure looks like it.  64% of football handicappers at this time believe that the Knights are going to cover the spread in their game against the Buffalo Bulls on Saturday even though the Knights are the road team.

Both teams are 1 and 1 on the season, but UCF is coming off of an impressive 28 to 21 loss as 3-point dogs to North Carolina State while Buffalo lost 34 to 6 to Baylor as 14-point dogs in their last game.

NCAAF Betting Lines

Central Florida Knights                      -8 ½ -110

Buffalo Bulls                                      +8 ½ -110

According to the trends, the Knights are one of the best NCAAF picks ATS this Saturday.

  • The Central Florida Knights are 7 and 1 ATS in their last 8 games on the road.
  • The Central Florida Knights are 5 and 0 ATS in their last 5 games following a loss.
  • The Buffalo Bulls are 1 and 4 ATS in their last 5 games in September.
  • The Buffalo Bulls are 1 and 5 ATS in their last 6 non-conference games.

There is some reasoning behind the NCAAF odds for this game.  UCF not only played North Carolina State very tough, losing by only 7 points, on Sept. 11th, but they destroyed South Dakota 38 to 7 in their first game of the season.

South Dakota went on to upset the Minnesota Golden Gophers from the Big Ten on the road as close to 30-point dogs last week.  So, UCF is a solid football program and have showed it in their two games so far this season.

Buffalo didn’t show that much in last week’s blowout loss to Baylor.  The Bulls did rack up over 300 yards of total offense, but QUARTERBACK Jerry Davis, in only his second college start, was terrible.  Davis passed for only 163 yards and an interception.

It’s doubtful that he’s going to have much more success against Central Florida’s defense this Saturday.  The Knights allowed North Carolina State to pass for only 105 total yards.  In fact, even though they lost the game, Central Florida out gained the Wolfpack 308 yards to 239 yards in that game.

Central Florida feels like they let one get away from them last week.  They aren’t going to let that happen again.  They should blowout the Buffalo Bulls this Saturday as 8 ½ point favorites.

Without a doubt the Central Florida Knights to cover the spread is one of the best NCAAF picks to make this Saturday in college football.
