Celtics vs Magic – Game 6 Betting Picks
May 29, 2010
The Boston Celtics are treating game six as if it’s their game seven because after being up 3-0 in the Eastern Conference Finals they don’t want to risk going back to Orlando with one game to decide the series.
The Orlando Magic or more specifically Dwight Howard has found a mean streak and while a comeback from 0-3 has never happened before in the NBA, there are a lot more believers after game five.
The NBA odds makers have the Boston Celtics set as the -3½ favorites, while a straight up wager on the Magic to extend the series will pay NBA betting fans +150. The game total is 188 points.

There are many nervous folks in Boston after the Magic didn’t just beat the Celtics in game four and five but dominated their team.
The way the Rondo hustle play typified the first three games of this series, seeing Glen Davis stumble as if he was out on his feet and have Joey Crawford save him from the inevitable crash to the floor has been the image of games 4 and 5.
The question we need to ask will there be a Celtic step up and save Boston from a crash in the Eastern Conference finals.
It won’t be easy, Glen Davis is questionable with a concussion, Rasheed Wallace is doubtful with a back injury and reserve Marquis Daniels is out with a concussion as well.
Some good news for the Celtics is that Kendrick Perkins had his seventh technical foul rescinded by the league office saving him from a one game suspension.
What makes the prospect of a 0-3 comeback a possibility for the Magic is that they won 59 games this season that was good for the second best record in the NBA.
The Celtics for much of the second half of the season were being written off as too old and too broken down to make any noise in the NBA playoffs. If both teams revert back to end of season form, two more wins is a definite possibility for the Magic.
Personally, I think it would be good for the NBA if the Magic can come back from 0-3. It will further develop Dwight Howard’s rep as Superman and a legitimate super star on the level of LeBron James and Kobe Bryant. Boston can handle the loss, they have experience in heartbreak, remember Bucky Dent? Bill Buckner? Too many men on the ice? Boston Fans will be fine if the Celtics suffer the loss.
