Celtics vs Lakers Prop Betting – NBA Finals Props
June 15, 2010
Could Tuesday night’s Game 6 be the final game of the NBA season?
While that remains to be seen, there is a lot that will be determined when the Lakers and Celtics square off at 9pm.
But instead of placing your wagers just on the money line and point spread, let’s look at a few NBA Finals prop bets which could make you some quick cash Tuesday night.
Paul Pierce- Over 19 ½ Points (-115) or Under 19 ½ Points (-115): After struggling in the early part of this series, Pierce was the star of stars in Game 5 Sunday, as he led all Celtics with 27 points on 12 of 21 shooting. He also scored 19 points in a Game 4 win.
But as this series shifts back to Los Angeles, expect Pierce to have a quiet night.
It’s not so much that Pierce isn’t capable of going off for another big scoring outburst, just that with the Lakers only one loss away from elimination, they’ll give their best defensive effort of this series. And it’ll start by stopping Pierce. Look for Ron Artest to keep the Celtics veteran in check, and if he struggles, for Phil Jackson to quickly switch Kobe Bryant on Pierce instead.
Boston may still close this series out Tuesday night, but if they do, it won’t be because of Pierce. Take the UNDER in this NBA Finals prop bet.
Pau Gasol- Over 21 Points (-125) or Under 21 Points (-105): As crazy as this might sound, in the Lakers Game 5 loss, only Kobe Bryant scored more than 13 points. Gasol was the second highest scorer with 12, in what only can be called a thoroughly dominating defensive game by the Celtics.
However, the output for Gasol seemed to mark a bigger trend, that the Lakers 7’0 power forward simply hasn’t been as good since this series left Los Angeles. He averaged 24 points in Game’s 1 and 2, but just 15 points a game in the last three.
Because of it, take the UNDER on this prop bet.
Just like Cleveland and Orlando before them, the Lakers seem to finally be getting worn down by the physical nature with which the Celtics play defense. No one has struggled more than Gasol. That will continue on Tuesday night.
Glen Davis- Over 5 ½ Points + Rebounds + Assists (-125) or Under 5 ½ Points + Rebounds + Assists (-105): Want a sneaky good NBA Finals prop bet? There might not be a better one on the board than Glen Davis going OVER 5 ½ Points + Rebounds + Assists.
In this series, “Big Baby,” has averaged eight points and four rebounds a game, bullying and bruising his way to the basket, during his short stints on the court. Expect Davis to have no problem doing the same Tuesday.
With defenses focusing on the perimeter player of such superstars as Rajon Rondo and Pierce, and the Lakers bigs having to account for Kevin Garnett, Davis often goes unnoticed. It lead to 12 points in Game 3, and a big 18 point outburst in Game 4.
Look for Glen Davis to comfortably go OVER 5 ½ Points, Rebounds and Assists.
Take the OVER in this NBA Finals Prop Bet!
