Cavaliers Hope to Cool Off Blazers – Portland at Cleveland
March 19, 2009
The Portland Trail Blazers (43-25 SU, 34-33 ATS, 31-35-1 O/U) made my selection – and hopefully a bunch of BetOnline NBA sports betting enthusiasts – a double winner on Wednesday by spanking the Indiana Pacers 95-85 to cover the spread as 2-point road favorites while playing Under the posted O/U total (203).
All-star shooting guard Brandon Roy scored a team-high 20 points while dishing out six assists and grabbing six rebounds to lead the Blazers to victory.
The Cleveland Cavaliers have won six straight games but have failed to cover the spread in the BetOnline Sportsbook in three straight contests.
The Cavaliers were lifted to a 97-93 win over the Orlando Magic on Tuesday night as superstar forward LeBron James again, approached a triple-double with 43 points, 12 rebounds, eight assists, and four steals.
The Cavs failed to cash in as 6-point home favorites while the game played under the 190-point Over/Under total.
Here is a look at tonight’s NBA betting trends, followed by my in-depth analysis and NBA Free Picks.
Portland is 8-3 SU in its last 11 games
The total has gone OVER in 4 of Portland’s last 6 games when playing on the road against Cleveland
Portland is 3-7 SU in its last 10 games on the road
Portland is 1-5 SU in its last 6 games when playing Cleveland
Cleveland is 5-0 SU in its last 5 games
Cleveland is 5-0 SU in its last 5 games at home
The total has gone UNDER in 5 of Cleveland’s last 5 games at home
Cleveland is 5-0 ATS in its last 5 games when playing at home against Portland
NBA Odds
Portland Trailblazers +10½ -110
Cleveland Cavaliers -10½ -110
Over 187 -110
Under 187 -110
Analysis: Despite ailing to cover the spread in three consecutive games against the Cavaliers, I like Portland to snap that ATS streak tonight as each of those losses has come by fewer points than tonight’s spread.
I also like the Under as it has played out in four of the last five meetings between these two ballclubs.
NBA Free Picks: Blazers +10½ Points/Under 187 Total Points
