Bulls Take on Heat as NBA Betting Home Underdog
February 25, 2011
The Chicago Bulls take on the Miami Heat as a home underdog in the NBA betting sportsbook on Thursday, February 24th.
This month they’ve beaten teams with ease even though starting center Joakim Noah has remained on the bench. The Bulls should get Noah back for their Thursday night contest against Miami. Will he make an impact and bring Chicago a victory over the Heat and a cover in the sports book?

Check out some trends for this game.
- The Miami Heat is 8 and 3 ATS in their last 11 games overall.
- The Miami Heat is 3-1-1 ATS in the last 5 meetings
- The Chicago Bulls are 6-0-1 ATS in their last 7 home games versus a team with a winning road record.
- The Chicago Bulls are 15-5-1 ATS in their last 21 home games.
I’m actually surprised that Miami is the favorite in this game. I’m even more surprised that so far 67% of NBA betting fans are lining up to back the Heat at -2 versus the Bulls. Miami has played well lately. They are 9 and 1 straight up in their last 10, but they are only 3 and 3 ATS in their last 6 and lost straight up to Boston 82 to 85 on Feb. 13th.
The Bulls are a terrific 18-9-2 against the spread at home. They are 8 and 2 ATS overall in their last 10 games and have gone 4 and 0 against the spread in their last 4 games. Chi-Town even beat the San Antonio Spurs 109 to 99 on February 17th. Joakim Noah should be back in the starting lineup versus the Heat on Thursday meaning that Chicago could very well dominate Miami at home.
Okay, maybe, dominate isn’t the right word to use, but the Bulls are plenty good enough to do some damage to the Heat. Derrick Rose, Chicago’s point-guard, averages over 25 points and over 8 assists per game. He can take games over. He’s also pretty good on D as he’s averaging close to a steal a game. What it means is that the home NBA odds underdog in this matchup should be able to at least keep one of Miami’s Big 3 under control.
That Miami player would be Dwayne Wade. With Bulls’ frontline player Carlos Boozer matching up with Chris Bosh, it’s going to fall onto the shoulders of LeBron James to get the Heat the victory in this contest.
I don’t believe James or Miami gets it done. I like the Heat as a long term prospect to win the Eastern Conference, but the Bulls have been incredible lately. The Bulls have gone 13 and 3 versus the NBA moneyline in their last 16 games. That’s pretty darn good.
I believe they cover the spread in this contest. They should be able to keep the game close and are a good team to bet on the NBA moneyline odds to upset Miami straight up on February 24th.
