Bulls Need an Easy Meal – Toronto at Chicago

January 23, 2009

The Toronto Raptors (16-28 SU, 17-25-2 ATS, 25-19 O/U) have lost a whopping seven straight games in the BetOnline Sportsbook.

The Chicago Bulls (18-25 SU, 18-25 ATS, 22-20-1 O/U) have lost three consecutive games coming into tonight’s matchup.

Tonight, one team will snap their losing streak when the two teams battle in the BetOnline Sportsbook when they meet at the United Center in Chi-Town.

The Raptors lost to the Detroit Pistons 95-76 on Wednesday, failing to cover the spread for BetOnline NBA sports betting backers as 5.5-point road underdogs while the game’s 171 points went UNDER the posted O/U total of 179.

All-star forward Chris Bosh scored a team-high 19 points to go along with five rebounds in a losing effort as just three Raptors reached double figures in scoring.

Toronto shot an unimpressive 42.5 percent from the field while allowing the Pistons to drain 50.6 percent of its collective shots.

"We need to do a better job of fighting through adversity," coach Jay Triano said. "I don’t know why, but when we get down, we seem to lose confidence and hang our heads a little."

The Bulls lost to the Atlanta Hawks 105-102 on Tuesday night as Ben Gordon led Chicago with 21 points. The Bulls failed to cover the spread as 2-point road underdogs while the game played over the 200.5-point O/U total.

The young Bulls have let a slew of games slip through their grasp this season, falling apart late in games.

"That’s pretty much the story of our season so far," said Gordon, who is averaging a team-high 20.0 points. "We get close, just not very good at closing games out."

"We’re still fighting for a playoff spot," Kirk Hinrich said. "That’s our main focus right here. Obviously, we have to string something together here."

Chicago Bulls -2½ -110

Over 199 -110

Under 199 -110

Analysis: The Bulls may be struggling, but they are generally a tough out when playing at home and should be able to take down a struggling Raptors team that seems to have lost its will to compete lately.

Take the Bulls to win and cover at home.
