Bulls are Running – Chicago at Miami

March 10, 2009

The Chicago Bulls (29-34 SU, 31-31-1 ATS, 35-27-1 O/U) and the Miami Heat (33-29 SU, 28-32-2 ATS, 34-27-1 O/U) will both be trying to pick up a win in the BetOnline Sportsbook when they square off at AmericanAirlines Arena tonight.

The Bulls manhandled the Milwaukee Bucks 117-102 at the United Center Friday to cover the spread in the BetOnline Sportsbook as a 6.5-point home favorite while the final score played Over the 205.5-point total.

Veteran shooting guard Ben Gordon scored a game-high 34 points while rookie point guard Derrick Rose added 27 points.

The Miami Heat had its two-game winning streak snapped in its 99-89 loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers on Saturday, failing to cover the spread for BetOnline NBA betting backers as 9-point road underdogs while the combined score checked in Under the posted O/U total of 192 points.

Superstar shooting guard Dwyane Wade had 25 points, eight rebounds and 12 assists in the loss.

Here is a look at tonight’s key trends, followed by my in-depth analysis and NBA Free Pick.

NBA Odds

Chicago Bulls +5 -110

Miami Heat -5 -110

Over 203½ -110

Under 203½ -110

Analysis: The Miami Heat have a stellar home record this season despite their season-long road woes and have covered the spread in three straight against the Bulls despite losing to Chicago by a bucket (95-93) in their last meeting on Feb. 12.

Despite the Heat’s convincing home record, I like the surging, ‘new-look’ Bulls, with veterans Brad Miller and John Salmons now on board, to continue their late-season playoff push by recording a big ATS cover in this contest while pushing the heat for the outright win.
