The Bobcats have won their last five games in a row and now have a 6-3 record plus a 4-1 record within conference play. That’s why they are so favored for this game. The Bulls, on the other hand, have lost their last three in a row and have a 2-6 record so far on the season.
Ohio beat the Louisiana-Lafayette Rajin Cajuns 38-31 in an incredible battle where the senior quarterback Boo Jackson threw for three touchdowns and had a rushing score. The Bobcats only needed eight third-down situations, as they move the ball consistently on the first two downs.
Ohio will lean on their running game to beat Buffalo, especially considering that running backs Phil Bates and Vince Davidson are having really good seasons, reaching the end zone nine times combined.
Consider also that the Buffalo Bulls defense can´t handle high-powered offenses. So far this season they have allowed more than 30 points four times, including three teams that reached the 40-point mark against them.
Buffalo’s offense has averaged 6.9 points per game and hasn’t done squat in the running game, not in the red zone, nor in middle, as they are simply awful running the ball.
Buffalo is 1-6 ATS as an underdog, 1-3 ATS against conference opponents and 1-4 ATS when playing with 6 or less days rest.
Ohio is 11-3 ATS against conference opponents, 1-4 ATS when playing against a team with a losing record, 7-2 ATS after two or more consecutive straight up wins and 5-1 ATS in November games.
Simmons´ pick: Take Ohio to cover.
