Buffalo is NFL Predictions Pick ATS vs. Minnesota
December 5, 2010
The Buffalo Bills are the NFL predictions pick to cover the spread in their game versus the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday, Dec. 5 th.
Although the Vikings are coming off of a terrific 17 to 13 victory over the Washington Redskins as -1 point dogs, Minnesota still has plenty of issues meaning that they aren’t a lock to cover the spread against a pesky Buffalo Bills team on Sunday.
The Bills have really played some ball since their bye week, even though they only have 2 victories straight up to show for it, and should give the Vikings all that they can handle.

The betting trends definitely favor the Bills in this game.
- The Buffalo Bills are 5-0-1 ATS in their last 6 games overall.
- The Buffalo Bills are 4 and 0 ATS in their last 4 games a road underdog.
- The Minnesota Vikings are 1 and 5 ATS in their last 6 games overall.
- The Minnesota Vikings are 0 and 4 ATS in their last 4 games following a straight up win.
The Minnesota Vikings covered versus Washington last Sunday by default. The truth is that that game could have gone either way. Minnesota is still a bad ATS team and can’t bet at the top of anybody’s NFL predictions pick list to cover the spread this Sunday.
The Vikings are only 3 and 8 ATS on the season including going 2 and 6 against the spread in their last 8 games. The Vikings’ main issue in this game against Buffalo on Sunday is the fact that they take on a Bills team that has become a decent team lately.
Since their bye, Buffalo has gone 5-0-1 against thee spread. That includes covering versus the spread against such top teams as Baltimore, in a 34 to 37 loss as 12-point dogs, Kansas City, in a 10 to 13 loss as 7-point dogs, and Pittsburgh last week in a 16 to 19 loss as 6 ½ point dogs.
The Bills turnaround has come about because their D, although ranked 32 nd against the run, is ranked 11 th against the pass. Buffalo Bills allows only 210 yards per game through the air. When it comes to Buffalo’s offense, things are looking up as well. The Bills are now averaging close to 21 points and 110 yards on the ground per game.
The offense played so well last week that the Bills actually had the straight up victory over Pittsburgh in their grasps when Stevie Johnson appeared to have caught the winning pass in the end zone. Of course, SJ dropped the ball and the Steelers went on for the victory, but the closeness of that game shows exactly how far Buffalo has come this season.
I just don’t see the Vikings covering a close to 6-point spread against a Buffalo Bills team that is used to being competitive against tougher competition than what the Vikings are likely to provide. Buffalo is playing better than Minnesota and the Vikings’ are still a dysfunctional group even if new coach Leslie Frazier is “undefeated” as a head guy in the NFL.
Simply put, the Bills to cover the points is one of the best NFL predictions I can make this Sunday.
