Bouncing Back – Tampa Bay Rays at Seattle Mariners
April 21, 2009
The Tampa Bay Rays (5-8 SU, 5-8 RL, 7-6 O/U) and the Seattle Mariners (8-5 SU, 10-3 RL, 7-6 O/U) will both be trying to pick up a victory for BetOnline MLB sports betting members when they battle at Safeco Field at 10 PM ET.
The Rays and Mariners have both lost two consecutive games coming into tonight’s matchup with Tampa losing to the White Sox 12-2 as a -175 favorite on Sunday and the Mariners losing to Detroit 8-2 as a -105 favorite on Sunday
Both teams also played Over their respective O/U totals in their last contest as well.
Tonight, the Rays will hand the ball to right-hander Andy Sonnanstine (0-1, 6.51 ERA) while the Mariners counter with southpaw Jarrod Washburn (2-0, 1.29 ERA).

MLB Odds
Tampa Bay Rays -1½ +145
Andy Sonnanstine –R -115
Seattle Mariners +1½ -165
Jarrod Washburn –L -105
Over 8½ Ev
Under 8½ -120
Analysis: Tampa Bay enters this three-game set after losing five of seven at home and allowing 20 runs in their last two games.
However, Tampa will have a chance as they hand the ball to Sonnanstine, who tied a team high in wins (14) last season and looked very solid in his last start, limiting the Yankees to just two runs on four hits in five innings as the Rays lost 4-3 on Wednesday night.
While I expect the Rays to play much better than they have in their last two games, I still will take the Mariners to win this contest behind another stellar start from lefty, Jarrod Washburn who gave up his only two runs of the season in his last start, allowing four hits in six innings as Seattle beat Los Angeles 11-3 on Wednesday night.
I like Seattle to win a low-scoring affair that plays Under the O/U total.
MLB Free Picks: Mariners +1½ Runs/Under 8½ Runs
