The loss to VT last week dropped NC State out of AP top 25 rankings and derailed an excellent start to the season. NC State won their first four games by an average of 19 points including a 17-point victory over Georgia Tech, the Wolfpack game into the game as 8-point underdogs.

Offensively, the team is ranked eighth nationally in passing yards. Junior quarterback Russell Wilson has completed 55.5% of his passes for 1474 yards, 14 touchdowns and 4 interceptions.

Russell’s main targets Owen Spencer and Jarvis Williams both have over 300 yards receiving but in the end zone, Russell spreads the touchdowns around with eight different players catch TDs.

The Wolfpack defense forces the Wolfpack offense to run up the score. They rank 59th in points allowed giving up 23.2 a game and 82nd in rushing yards giving up 164 yards a game.

Boston College is not meeting expectations this year. Even in their wins, they have failed to cover the college football lines. They are 0-4 ATS and three of their four games have stayed under the total.

Defensively, the Eagles are exceptionally strong against the run where they rank eighth nationally in giving up 81.5 yards a game. It forces teams to throw and that’s where the Eagles defense falls apart.

The pass defense is allowing 229.5 yards a game, which puts them at 80th nationally.

The offense is bad. BC hasn’t scored more than 20 points in a game this season. Quarterback David Shinskie is completing 54% of his passes for just 529 yards with four touchdowns and four interceptions.

Looking at the trends, BC is 0-8 ATS in their past eight games overall have stayed under the total in eight of nine games as an underdog of +3.5-10.

The Wolfpack are 5-1 ATS in their past six games overall and have gone over the total in 11 of their past 12 conference games.

Looking the team’s history, the Eagles haven’t given any indication that they can cover the college football lines. Take the Wolfpack.
