Big XII Showdown in Week 6 – #21 Nebraska Cornhuskers vs. #24 Missouri Tigers

October 9, 2009

Game-day: 10/8/2009

Kick-off: 9:00 pm EST

These two Big 12 teams face off on Thursday night in a game that has become more meaningful than ever after the Oklahoma Sooners lost for the second time in 2009 this past Sunday.

The winner of the Nebraska vs. Missouri game could very well be Texas’s biggest challenge in the mighty Big 12. Nebraska would be perfect save for a loss to the Virginia Tech Hokies on the road in Blacksburg a few weeks ago. Missouri is perfect at 4 and 0 straight up.

Here are the BetOnline online sportsbook NCAAF betting line for this game.

Nebraska Cornhuskers -3 -110
Missouri Tigers +3 -110

Here are a few online wagering trends for this game.

  • The Nebraska Cornhuskers are 5 and 1 ATS in their last 6 games as the favorite.
  • The Nebraska Cornhuskers are 4 and 1 against the spread in their last 5 games on the road.
  • The Missouri Tigers are 1 and 4 ATS in their last 5 games on grass.
  • The Home team is 6 and 1 against the spread in the last 7 meetings between these two teams.

Nebraska Cornhuskers is the team with a loss on their record, but it was a quality loss. The Cornhuskers traveled to Blacksburg to take on the Hokies and almost pulled off the upset as underdogs losing 16 to 15. Virginia Tech is better than any team that Missouri has faced so far this year.

The Cornhuskers are 4 and 0 ATS and no doubt is the better team. Even though Missouri is 4 and 0 straight up, they haven’t been nearly as impressive as Nebraska.

The Missouri Tigers have beaten Illinois, Bowling Green, Furman and Nevada. All four teams are terrible.

It all adds up to a Nebraska victory both straight up and ATS. The Cornhuskers should be able to stop Missouri’s offense and Missouri’s defense has no chance against that Nebraska attack.

The bet is on Nebraska at -3 in the sportsbook.
