Starting in College Station, we’ll see a College Basketball Betting matchup featuring one of the most surprising teams in the country, and one of the most disappointing, when Kansas State and Texas A&M get together.

For the Wildcats, this year has been a disaster, as off the court problems and chemistry issues have plagued a team which made the Elite Eight last March. The Wildcats are just 1-3 in Big XII play, after Monday’s loss at Missouri.

As for Texas A&M, well they too are coming off a loss, but are still one of the more pleasant surprises in college basketball this season. The Aggies are 16-2, led by Kris Middleton’s 15 points a game.

However, the trademark of any Mark Turgeon coached team will always be defense, as Texas A&M allows just 58 points per game, which ranks them 13th in the country in that category. It also spells doom for a Kansas State squad struggling to score the ball. The Wildcats shoot just 44 percent from the field (151st in the country) and are coming off a loss at Missouri in which they scored a meager 59 points.

Stay away from Kansas State in the Saturday College Basketball Bets.

No. 11 Texas Longhorns (15-3 SU, 10-3 ATS) at No. 2 Kansas Jayhawks (18-0 SU, 8-8 ATS)

Meanwhile, in the second half of the College Basketball Bets, we’ve got two of the best teams in the country when Texas and Kansas square off.

Simply put there are so many stars in this game we don’t even know where to begin. The logical place to start would be with Texas’ Jordan Hamilton, who has emerged as an All-American candidate. The sophomore played maybe his best game of the season in Wednesday’s win over A&M, scoring 27 points on 10 of 14 shooting from the field. Tristan Thompson adds 13 points a game down low.

Speaking of down low, that’s where the Jayhawks Marcus and Markieff Morris do their damage. The twins from Philadelphia have been incredible this year, with Marcus playing like an All-American. The junior averages 17 points a game, and has gone for 25 or more in two of his last three. His brother Markieff leads this team with over eight rebounds per game.

And honestly, it’s that pair which should be the difference in this game.

As good as Thompson is playing this year, he’s still a freshman, and still has a lot of work to do on the defensive end. Even with fellow forward Gary Johnson helping him in the paint, we do worry that it won’t be enough to stop Marcus and Markieff.

At home, and with two feared twins in the middle, we just see no reason why Kansas shouldn’t be the second half of your College Basketball Bets this weekend.
