Bet the One With the Best Horse Racing Odds – Fairplex Racing

September 17, 2010

Looking for an overlay to bet on Friday?  Look no further than Race 4 at Belmont.  Great horse race betting odds can be found on a number of entrants for Belmont’s 4th on Friday, Sept. 17th, a $20,000 claimer going 6 furlongs over the main track.

The chance of rain hitting Belmont on Friday is roughly 30% meaning that horses with good mud breeding and mud performances in their past have to be considered for a wager.

There’s plenty to choose from in Belmont’s 4th on Friday.  Below is whom I’ve settled on to bet.  All three of my choices should go off at overlaid horse betting odds to win the 4th on Friday.

Belmont Park  - Friday

6 furlongs over dirt

8 – Missile Motor – - 12/1 morning line odds

Missile Motor ran terribly on Sept. 11th over Belmont Park’s racing strip at the $10,000 Claiming level when finishing 4th at around 3/1 horse racing betting odds. That’s the reason he’s going off at 12/1 in this.  I love his chances, though, because out of 17 lifetime races over the mud, Missile Motor has won 6 times.  He’s also won 14 out of 49 lifetime and has a 2-3-3 record out of 14 races at Belmont Park.  He could step it up, should get a good trip, and is a serious overlay bet at 12/1 to win this.

4 – The Zipster – - 5/1 morning line odds

If nobody goes with The Zipster early on, then the son of City Zip will be long gone in this.  2 victories out of 3 races on the mud and 2 victories and 1 second place finish out of 6 lifetime starts at this distance means that The Zipster will feel right at home when the gates open in the 5th on Thursday.

5 – Who’s The Cowboy – - 6/1 morning line odds

Trainer Gary Contessa is saddling 2 horses off of the claim in here.  Out of the 2, I prefer Who’s The Cowboy who is taking a slight drop in class and has won 13 races out of 46 starts at this distance.  On the mud, Who’s The Cowboy has a victory and 2 seconds out of 6 lifetime races.  So, horsesplayers should hope that it comes up sloppy on Thursday if they want to bet on this horse.  The horse racing odds on Who’s The Cowboy to win this, with Ramon Dominguez on his back, will be more than fair if they stay at or around 6/1.

Horse Wagering Strategy

I prefer Missile Motor to shock this field and will bet on that one to win and place.  I will bet a trifecta with Missile Motor, Who’s The Cowboy, The Zipster with Missile Motor, Who’s The Cowboy, The Zipster, 2-Ode To Roy, with ALL

Good luck!
