Neither the Orange nor the Wildcats are a team that we would really be thrilled to bet online with right now, as both are sort of in the middle of the pack in the Big East and aren’t playing all that well.

For Syracuse, the start of this week provides no breather after just barely surviving against the Rutgers Scarlet Knights at home in OT over the weekend. Had the game been lost, the ‘Cuse would have almost certainly fallen out of the Top 25 in the country, and they might have been in some bubble trouble for the first time all season long.

For Villanova, at least there were two road wins to speak of this past week, but wins over the Seton Hall Pirates and a narrow escape against the DePaul Blue Demons is certainly nothing to get overly excited about.

The Wildcats are going to rest easily in this one knowing that they just have a history of playing well in this series. Over the course of the last five clashes, the Cats are 4-1 SU and ATS, and the only blunder was a bad 18 point loss in the Carrier Dome last year. Aside from that, not only has Villanova won, but it has beaten the snot out of Syracuse as well, winning by at least 11 points on three of those four occasions.

More good news for Villanova: Corey Stokes should be back in the lineup after missing three games with a toe injury. His return comes at a perfect time, as the team really has been struggling without him. For those who bet online in Saturday’s tussle in the Windy City though, the hero was the other Corey — Corey Fisher. He had 36 big time points in the win and should not be overlooked as a potential hero here in the City of Brotherly Love on Monday night.

The Orange have a lot of great pieces to the puzzle, but if Rick Jackson is neutralized inside, there really aren’t any other great advantages anywhere else around the court. Syracuse is in some trouble for sure, especially on the road, and we tend to believe that we should bet online with the Cats.
