Philadelphia travels cross-country to tackle the winless San Francisco 49ers Sunday night. The last time we saw San Francisco in prime time was Monday night in Week 2 when the 49ers dominated the box score stats but came up on the short end of the scoreboard 25-22 against the Super Bowl champion Saints.

When you bet on the NFL, be prepared for untimely and costly turnovers. San Francisco suffered four turnovers that week and lost despite having a 417 to 287 yard advantage while racking up 7.2 yards per play to just 4.5 YPP for the Saints.

Last week San Francisco let another game get away as they built a 14-0 lead at Atlanta. Leading 14-13 with less than two minutes to play, the 49ers Nate Clements intercepted Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan near midfield, but suffered a brain lapse as he envisioned scoring a touchdown instead of falling down or sitting on the ball to end the game. Clements decided to run after the catch, only to be stripped and fumble on his way to the end zone. Shocking and stupid for certain.

The Falcon’s took over inside their own 10-yard line and drove the field in less than a minute before kicking the game-winning 43 yard field goal. If you like underdogs and bet on the NFL, then you cashed easily with the 49ers. If you also made a moneyline bet, you’re likely still in an ornery mood.

The toll on losing can be troublesome and San Francisco has seen its season slip away early after being the football betting favorite to win the NFC West division. Despite the big outburst against the Saints, the 49ers are averaging just 4.9 YPP compared to the Eagles 5.8 YPP that ranks #7 in the NFL. Now without Vick at quarterback, the Eagles lose his movement and ability to scramble from the pocket as needed.

But Kolb can be a solid passer and against a 49ers pass defense that allows a 67 percent completion rate. If you watch football and bet on the NFL, you’ll be certain to see plenty of balls thrown to the Eagles dynamic receiving corps.

NFL Insider Tip: When betting on the NFL, consider winless teams in Game 5 are better than 65 percent winners. San Francisco coach Singletary is 10-3 ATS following a road game. He will no doubt demand smash mouth football by San Francisco as the Eagles run defense is allowing 136 yards per game on the ground and will get a steady dose of running back Frank Gore. Look for the Niners to pound the rock all night long and secure the home win and cover.

My NFL Predictions: San Francisco 49ers (-3) -120
