Bet on NBA – Over Spurs/Jazz, Miami and Chicago to Cover

November 20, 2010

Poor Eva Longoria.  Tony Parker hears that they’re getting a divorce and goes out and racks up 21 points, 3 boards and 7 assists versus the Chicago Bulls to lead the Spurs to an NBA betting cover on Wednesday night.  What did Eva get?  Nothing but more rumors from TMZ.

As my man T. Furious tweeted, “You can’t trust the French”.  Of course, all French dudes have mistresses, right?  On Friday, the Frenchman and his Spur buddies travel to Salt Lake City, Utah (a state known to delve into multi-relationships) for a battle against the Utah Jazz.

Maybe, Deron Williams will find a way to put a smile on Eva’s face by rocking T. Parker with 30 points and 20 assists.  Not that I care.  I like the over in that game.  I also like the Bulls and Heat to cover in the NBA sportsbook.

Nov. 19 th – NBA Games

Miami Heat -11 ½ vs. Charlotte Bobcats

Where:  American Airlines Arena, Miami, Florida

When:  7:30 pm EST

Analysis:  The Heat is only 5 and 6 ATS this season and had lost 5 straight games versus the spread before taking it to Phoenix 123 to 96 as 8 ½ point basketball betting faves in their last game.  Charlotte shouldn’t provide much of a challenge to the Heat who discovered something about each other in the Phoenix game.  All three superstars, Chris Bosh included, can play together to produce victories.  Bosh had 35 points in that game.  If he stays aggressive, then things should open up for both LeBron and D-Wade.  Charlotte averages only 93.7 points per game.  The Bobcats give up 96 per game, and that’s good, but they’re facing a team that appears to be on the upsurge and plays defense as well as they do.  I have to roll with the Heat.

Over 204 ½ Utah Jazz vs. San Antonio Spurs

Where:  EnergySolutions Arena, Salt Lake City, Utah

When:  9:00 pm EST

Analysis:  Yes, the Spurs are playing exceptionally well.  They’ve won 8 games in a row and they’ve covered in 5 out of those 8 games, but I’m not sure if they have what it takes to keep the spread within the NBA odds number.  To me, the much safer bet is going over the total of 204 ½ in this game.  The Spurs have scored 107, 116, 117 and 103 in their last 4 games.  The Spurs average 108 points per game.  The Jazz average over 102 points per game and aren’t afraid to run.  In fact, I believe that point guard Deron Williams wants to run.  The over is 20 and 8 in the last 28 meetings between these two teams.

Chicago Bulls +4 ½ vs. Dallas Mavericks

Where:  American Airlines Center, Dallas, Texas

When: 9:30 pm EST

Analysis:  The Bulls had a nice lead on the Spurs in their last game until that disastrous 3 rd quarter where S.A. outscored them 37 to 12.  The Bulls won the 4 th quarter outscoring the Spurs 35 to 29 but the damage had been done.  Dallas is a good team but they’re already 1-3-2 ATS on the season at home.  They’re 4 and 0 ATS on the road.  Last year, Dallas sucked versus the NBA betting spread at home as well.  I don’t believe they start turning things around in their own building versus the spread against the Bulls.  I like Chicago.
