Bet on NBA – New Jersey +2, Oklahoma City +6 and Detroit +6 are Best Bets
November 16, 2010
I don’t understand why the L.A. Clippers are NBA betting favorites in their game versus the New Jersey Nets on Monday night.
When it comes to the NBA sportsbook, I have to back the Nets versus the Clippers on Monday night because L.A.C. is flat out awful. I’ve got 2 other games going on tonight in addition to the Clippers vs. the Nets.
Let’s get to Monday’s games!

Nov. 15th – NBA Games
Oklahoma City Thunder +6 vs. Utah Jazz
Where: EnergySolutions Arena, Salt Lake City, Utah
When: 9:00 pm EST
Analysis: Utah has won 5 games in a row but they haven’t blown out teams and are only 3-1-1 ATS when it comes to basketball betting. That includes pushing versus the Charlotte Hornets in a 96 to 95 victory as -1 point favorites in their last.
The winning streak for OKC started with a 109 to 107 victory over the L.A. Clippers as -11 ½ point favorite. They’re favored by 6 points versus a team that is coming off of a 104 to 117 loss to the San Antonio Spurs as -2 ½ point favorites.
Kevin Durant, Jeff Green and Russell Westbrook are going to be ready to throw down in Utah tonight after San Antonio embarrassed them and the Jazz might be slowing down after playing so hard for so many straight games. I have to take the points in the pro basketball sports book in this contest.
L.A. Clippers -2 vs. New Jersey Nets
Where: Staples Center, Los Angeles, California
When: 10:30 pm EST
Analysis: Clippers’ center Blake Griffin is the man but he faces a tough dude in Nets’ big Brook Lopez. Lopez played over 41 minutes in New Jersey’s last game, a 90 to 91 loss to the Orlando Magic. New Jersey has one of the best defenses in the NBA.
They allow only 45% from the field and an average of 95 points per game. Although the NBA betting odds makers don’t agree, L.A. should probably be the dog in this game since both Baron Davis and Chris Kaman are out of action tonight.
Bake Griffin, Eric Gordon and Eric Bledsoe each logged over 40 minutes in the Clippers’ last game. They were all effective but facing a tough defense like New Jersey’s is a recipe for disaster.
The Clippers are under-manned and might not be as good as New Jersey when full strength as it is. Why would anybody think that they would have a shot to cover in tonight’s game?
Detroit Pistons +6 vs. Golden State Warriors
Where: Oracle Arena, Oakland, California
When: 10:30 pm EST
Analysis: This is another game where the odds in the NBA sportsbook don’t make all that much sense to me. The Pistons beat Golden State 102 to 97 on Nov. 7th. That was only 8 days ago.
Detroit’s D is good and Golden State doesn’t often play defense. So, the edge in the game definitely goes to Detroit on the defensive side of things. When it comes to offense, don’t be so sure to write-off the Pistons as the worse offensive team between these two.
The Pistons bring T-Mac, Ben Gordon and Charlie Villanueva off of the bench. All 3 guys are capable of putting the ball in the basket. I have to take the points and roll with the Pistons in their game versus Golden State on Monday night.
Let’s make some basketball betting profits on Monday night!
