Let’s take a look at the NBA action going on Tuesday night, Dec. 14th!
Dec. 14th – NBA Games
Los Angeles Lakers (17-2) at Washington Wizards (6-16)
Where: Verizon Center, Washington, District of Columbia
When: 7:00 pm EST
NBA Odds: None
Analysis: Oh, there will be NBA betting lines established for this game between the Lakers and the Wizards. Unless the betting line is L.A. -2 ½ or less, the Lakers are going to have a hard time covering the spread. In fact, they might end up losing this game straight up because L.A. has had trouble versus teams with excellent point-guards. The Lakers have lost twice to Chicago and Derrick Rose in their last 10 games. L.A. also lost straight up to Utah and Deron Williams once in their last 10 games. The Wizards John Wall is averaging 16.7 points, 3.5 boards and 8.9 assists per game. His backcourt teammate, Gilbert Arenas, is averaging 17.5 points per game. L.A. beat the Wizards 115 to 108 the last time these two teams met but that game occurred in Los Angeles. Don’t be surprised if Washington turns the tables on the Lakers in this contest on Tuesday night.
Atlanta Hawks (16-9) at Detroit Pistons (7-18)
Where: The Palace of Auburn Hills, Auburn Hills, Michigan
When: 7:30 pm EST
NBA Odds: Atlanta -4 ½
Analysis: 75% of sports betting handicappers are all over the Hawks in this contest because the betting line does appear to be on the low side. Atlanta has gone 3 and 1 both straight up and against the wagering spread in their last 4 games. They are 8 and 4 against the spread on the road so far this season and beat Detroit 94 to 85 the last time these two teams played against each other in early November. The Hawks haven’t had an issue with all-star Joe Johnson on the bench because of an injury when winning 8 out of their last 10 straight up. Detroit has lost 8 out of their last 10 straight up and is a ridiculously bad 3 and 7 against the spread in their last 10 games.
Orlando Magic (16-8) at Denver Nuggets (14-9)
Where: Pepsi Center, Denver, Colorado
When: 9:00 pm EST
NBA Odds: Denver +1 ½
Analysis: Tough call for NBA spread betting fans in this one as the Orlando Magic face the Denver Nuggets on Tuesday night. Orlando is a terrible 3 and 9 against the spread on the road this season while Denver is a horrid 3-7-1 ATS at home this season. Often times, though, the Nuggets are home favorites but this time they receive points and that should make all the difference. The Nuggets return home after a 4 game road trip where they went 1 and 3 straight up and against the spread. Carmelo Anthony leads the team in points, 23 per, and boards, close to 9 per. Overall, the Nuggets’ front line of Shelden Williams, ‘Melo, and Nene should be able to keep Superman under control.
