Bet on NBA – Go With Dallas and Chicago ATS and Over New Orleans/Portland

November 27, 2010

After only 2 games on Thanksgiving Day, the NBA is back with a vengeance on Friday, Nov. 26th, with 12 games on the schedule.

Every single one of the 12 is available to gamblers to bet in the NBA sportsbook.

I’ve picked 3 wagers out of the 12 games that I feel could lead to nice profits on post-Turkey Day.

Nov. 26th – NBA Games

Dallas Mavericks +4 vs. San Antonio Spurs

Where:  AT&T Center, San Antonio, Texas

When:  8:30 pm EST

Analysis:  San Antonio is 13 and 1 on the season and is looking like the best team in the NBA.  An argument can be made for the Lakers, sure, but the Spurs are scoring 108 points a game and giving up around 99.  I believe, thought, that Dallas might be able to not only cover the spread but also hang another “L” straight up on the Spurs in Friday’s game.  Dallas is 6 and 0 ATS on the road and have won 3 straight games including beating the Oklahoma City Thunder 111 to 103 in their last game.  San Antonio goes into this off of a hard fought 113 to 109 victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves in overtime.  I like Dallas to keep their undefeated NBA betting road cover streak intact.

Chicago Bulls +4 vs. Denver Nuggets

Where:  Pepsi Center, Denver, Colorado

When:  9:00 pm EST

Analysis:  The Bulls’ Derrick Rose is making a case for “best point guard in the NBA” moniker.  He’s averaging over 28 points and 8 assists per game.  He went for 35 points, 12 boards and 7 assists in the Bulls 123 to 115 overtime victory over the Phoenix Suns in their last game.  Putting things into Derrick’s favor on Friday night is the fact that the Bulls get back Taj Gibson.  That’s just another player that Derrick can involve in the offense.  For the Denver Nuggets, Carmelo Anthony continues to perform, ‘Melo is averaging 25 points per game, but the Nuggets are lacking something.  They’re only 5-8-1 ATS overall and 2 and 4 against the basketball betting spread at home.  Denver might get point guard Chauncey Billups back for this game.  If they don’t, then gamblers should expect Rose to be even better than he normally is on the court and for Chicago to actually win this game straight up.

Over 188 New Orleans vs. Portland

Where:  Rose Garden, Portland, Oregon

When: 10:00 pm EST

Analysis:  I got burned the other night be betting over the total NBA odds in the New Orleans vs. Utah game.  61 points were scored in the first quarter but then the Hornets could muster only 21 in the second and third quarters before putting in 15 in the 4th quarter.  The scored ended up Utah 105 and New Orleans 87 for a total of 192.  That was 1 ½ points lower than the 193 ½ total.  No worries on Friday night, right?  The Over is 4 and 1 in the last 5 meetings between these two teams, 5 and 1 in the Hornets last 6 games after a loss off 10 points or more in their previous game and 4 and 1 in the Blazers last 5 games overall.  The game should go over.

Let’s make some basketball betting profits on Friday night!
