Bet on NBA – Go With Chicago vs. Boston, NY vs. New Orleans, and Utah to Cover

December 4, 2010

There’s lots of action tonight in the Basketball sportsbook.  The Chicago Bulls, with Carlos Boozer back, travel to Boston to take on the Celtics.  The high-flying New York Knicks take on Chris Paul and the New Orleans Hornets and Dallas faces Utah in a battle of top Western Conference teams.

Dec. 3rd – NBA Games

Chicago Bulls +5 vs. Boston Celtics

Where:  TD Garden, Boston, Massachusetts

When:  8:00 pm EST

Analysis:  Orlando absolutely blitzed the Bulls 107 to 78 in Carlos Boozer’s first game as a Chicagoan.  It was also the first loss for Chicago against the spread in 5 straight games. The Bulls are a good team and there’s little doubt that Carlos Boozer is going to make them even better.  He shouldn’t struggle against the Celtics the way he did versus the Magic.

Chicago is 5 and 2 ATS in the last 7 meetings between these two in Boston and 7 and 1 ATS in their last 8 games after playing on 1 day of rest.  The Celtics are 0-3-1 ATS in their last 4 games at home and 2-6-1 ATS overall this season.  I’m definitely backing the Bulls in the NBA sportsbook in this matchup.

New York Knicks +6 ½ vs. New Orleans Hornets

Where:  New Orleans Arena, New Orleans, Louisiana

When:  8:00 pm EST

Analysis:  The over looks pretty good in this game to, it’s only 203 ½, so sports betting basketball handicappers should think about an in-game parlay.  I particularly like the fact that New York is 5 and 0 against the spread versus New Orleans in the last 5 meetings.  The Knicks are 9 and 2 against the spread on the road this season and have scored 110 points or more in 7 out of their last 10 games.  New York is also 8 and 2 against the spread in their last 10 while the Hornets have gone 2-7-1 against the spread in their last 10.  The Knicks’ offense should be too much for New Orleans’ defense.  If the Hornets win, they will win a close game.  There’s a big chance that the Knicks could win this game straight up if they continue to have a hot hand meaning that NBA betting moneyline players could stand to make a nice profit on this one.

Utah Jazz -3 ½ vs. Dallas Mavericks

Where:  EnergySolutions Arena, Salt Lake City, Utah

When: 10:30 pm EST

Analysis:  Yes, it’s true, the Dallas Mavericks are 7 and 0 ATS on the road this season, but all streaks must end eventually and I’m thinking that streak ends tonight.  Both of these teams have been awesome lately with Dallas winning 7 games in a row straight up and going 5 and 0 against the spread in the pro basketball sportsbook in 5 straight games.  The Jazz has gone 7 and 0 both straight up and against the spread in their last 7 games.  The big difference for me in this one is the fact that although both teams have excellent defenses, the Jazz allow only 42% from the field against them and the Mavericks allow 43% from the field against them, the Jazz offense scores around 5 more points, 102 to 97, than the Mavericks.  Point guard Deron Williams is also averaging 22 points and 10 assists per game for the Jazz and I just don’t feel that the Mavericks’ Jason Kidd can go mano y mano with Williams.
