Bet On NBA – Get Friday Going By Backing San Antonio, Boston and Orlando
January 8, 2011
Basketball betting fans should start out their Friday night the right way by backing the San Antonio Spurs, Boston Celtics and Orlando Magic in early game NBA action! The Spurs will be looking to recover from their second straight loss, 103 to 105 to the Boston Celtics, versus the Indiana Pacers while the Men in Green take on the Toronto Raptors and the Orlando Magic hosts the Houston Rockets.
Check out a preview for all 3 games below!
Jan. 7th – NBA Games
San Antonio Spurs (29-6) at Indiana Pacers (14-18)
Where: Conseco Fieldhouse, Indianapolis, Indiana
When: 7:00 pm EST
NBA Odds: San Antonio -6
Analysis: I was positive that the Spurs would win that game on Wednesday night, but Rajon Rondo was just too much for San Antonio. Too bad I didn’t take the 2 ½ points in the online sportsbook and instead bet on the freakin’ Spurs on the moneyline! The 103 to 105 loss wasn’t that bad considering that S.A. ran up and down the court in a 115 to 128 loss vs. the New York Knicks the night before. Now, San Antonio gets to put the clamps on Indiana after a day of rest. The Spurs should have no trouble covering the spread on Friday night since Indiana is basically Danny Granger and a bunch of college level players, and I don’t mean Duke college level.
Toronto Raptors (12-23) at Boston Celtics (27-7)
Where: TD Garden, Boston, Massachusetts
When: 7:30 pm EST
NBA Odds: Boston -9 ½
Analysis: Boston isn’t a lock versus the NBA betting spread in this game, the Men in Green are 6-10-1 at home, but Toronto is one of the worst teams in the league. The Raptors usually cover a spread and then fail miserably ATS for a 3 to 4 game stretch. They figure to start that against the spread losing stretch on Friday night since they beat Cleveland 120 to 105 as +2 point dogs in their last game. Toronto is also 1-4-1 ATS in their last 5 games versus Boston and the Celtics are 19-8-1 ATS in their last 28 games after an ATS loss. Since the Celtics get a day to rest before the game, I don’t believe they “bounce” off of the S.A. victory.
Houston Rockets (16-19) at Orlando Magic (23-12)
Where: Amway Center, Orlando, Florida
When: 8:00 pm EST
NBA Odds: Orlando -10
Analysis: I’m still getting the crow out of my teeth after saying that the trades Orlando made would “end in disaster”. All the Magic has done lately is go 7 and 0 straight up and 6 and 1 against the bet on basketball spread in the sportsbook in their last 7 games. Since the Magic failed ATS versus Milwaukee on January 5th, they figure to go crazy wild against the Rockets on January 7th. 10 points is a lot but Orlando is just too good right now while Houston has lot 4 out of their last 5 games straight up and is 0-4-2 against the spread in their last 6. Hey, Rocket Fan, Yao wasn’t going to contain Superman, anyhow, so don’t worry that Mr. Ming won’t be suiting up in this one.
