Bet on NBA – Dallas Mavericks and L.A. Lakers Both in Action

December 7, 2010

The Dallas Mavericks and Los Angeles Lakers, two of the best teams in the NBA this season, are both in action on Tuesday, Dec. 7th and the NBA betting lines are up for both squads.

Dallas is looking for their 10th straight victory against the Golden State Warriors. Kobe Bryant welcomes his “best friend”, Gilbert Arenas, to the Staples Center when the Lakers take on the Washington Wizards. The other big Tuesday night game pits the Phoenix Suns versus the Portland Trailblazers.

Dec. 7th – NBA Games

Golden State Warriors +9 at Dallas Mavericks

Where: American Airlines Center, Dallas, Texas

When: 8:30 pm EST

Analysis: Dallas has been phenomenal lately both straight up and against the spread, but they showed signs of slowing down in their last game, a 105 to 103 victory over the Sacramento Kings on the road in their last.

The Mavericks are only 4-5-2 against the NBA odds betting spread at home while the Golden State Warriors are 5-5-1 ATS on the road. The road team is actually 4 and 0 ATS in the last 4 meetings between these two teams and Golden State is 23-10-1 ATS in the last 34 meetings between these two.

The key will be for Warriors’ guards Monta Ellis and Stephen Curry to be patient on the offensive end and to take the shots that Dallas gives them. If Ellis and Curry do that, then they can keep this game closer than 9 points.

Phoenix Suns +2 ½ at Portland Trailblazers

Where: Rose Garden, Portland, Oregon

When: 10:00 pm EST

Analysis: The NBA betting spread is all about the ‘Blazers being at home and how that will affect hoops handicappers in this game. Truthfully speaking, the Suns should probably be the favorites since they are the team that’s riding a 3 game winning streak both straight up and against the spread.

Phoenix center Earl Barron is doing just enough to allow giant forward Channing Frye to use his impeccable shooting skills while bringing Hedo Turkoglu off the bench, instead of starting him, has been the move of the year so far for coach Alvin Gentry.

The Suns are just in better shape than the ‘Blazers who will be without the suspended Andre Miller on Tuesday night. Who’s going to guard Steve Nash now that Miller is out of action? Your call is as good as mine. The Suns should win this game outright.

Washington Wizards +12 ½ at Los Angeles Lakers

Where: Staples Center, Los Angeles, California

When: 10:30 pm EST

Analysis: The Wizards are a horrible road team. They’re 3 and 7 against the spread in the NBA sportsbook, but guards Kirk Hinrich, John Wall and Gilbert Arenas gives them three dudes that can play with the Lakers’ Kobe Bryant and L.A. isn’t a great against the spread team as it is.

The Lake Show is only 5 and 6 ATS at home on the season and was 0 and 5 ATS in 5 games in a row before beating Sacramento 113 to 80 in their last game. L.A. is the much better team for sure, but giving up 12 ½ points to a high-scoring Washington Wizards’ squad makes me nervous. I’m going with the Wizards to cover.

Let’s make some basketball betting profits on Tuesday night!
