Bet On NBA – Back Chicago, Philly, Knicks on Dec. 22nd
December 22, 2010
The Chicago Bulls, fresh off of spanking the Philadelphia 76’ers 121 to 76 as 5-point home faves in the NBA sportsbook, take a plane to Washington D.C. to battle the Wizards on Wednesday night.
The 76’ers, meanwhile, battle the Celtics in Boston as 10-point dogs and the New York Knicks host the Oklahoma City Thunder in an even game.
Let’s take a look at three Dec. 22nd games in the sportsbook!

Chicago Bulls (17-9) at Washington Wizards (7-19)
Where: Verizon Center, Washington, District of Columbia
When: 7:00 pm EST
NBA Betting Odds: Chicago -2
Analysis: The Bulls should have no trouble blasting the Wizards and easily covering the NBA odds in the sportsbook on Wednesday night even without forward Joakim Noah. Veteran Kurt Thomas played about 27 minutes versus the 76’ers on Tuesday night and racked up 12 points and 8 boards.
The Bulls frontline of Thomas, Luol Deng and Carlos Boozer absolutely dominated the 76’ers frontline and should be even more effective against the Wizards.
I’m not saying that Chicago will beat Washington by close to 30 points, but I am saying that Washington should have no shot against Chicago on Wednesday with a starting line up of Al Thornton, Andray Blatche, JaVale McGee, Nick Young and Kirk Hinrich. Bulls should roll.
Philadelphia 76’ers (11-17) at Boston Celtics (22-4)
Where: TD Garden, Boston, Massachusettes
When: 7:30 pm EST
NBA Betting Odds: Philadelphia +10
Analysis: That’s right, friends! I’m actually backing those same 76’ers who got worked over by the Bulls to cover the spread in the NBA sportsbook versus the Boston Celtics on Wednesday night. Up until the Chicago game, Philly had gone 11 and 1 ATS in their last 12 games.
The 76’ers actually lost to Boston by a single point, 101 to 102, on Dec. 9th. They should have no trouble covering a 10 point spread against the Celtics since the Men in Green although fantastic straight up are only 6-6-1 ATS at home while Philly is 18-9-1 ATS overall and 8-5-1 against the spread on the road.
Oklahoma City Thunder (20-9) at New York Knicks (16-12)
Where: Madison Square Garden, New York, New York
When: 7:30 pm EST
NBA Betting Odds: Over 218
Analysis: My gut tells me that the Knicks will cover the even spread in the online sports betting book on Dec. 22nd, but I’m not sold on that. I am sold on the idea that the Knicks and Thunder will play in a crazy, go to the basket or shoot 3-pointers, type of offensive game on Wednesday night.
Oklahoma City averages 103.7 points per game but put up 121 against New York the last time the two teams met. The Thunder will run if their opponent wants to and New York definitely wants to run. The Knicks average 107.9 points per game, second in the league, while allowing 107.3 points per game.
Don’t expect any defense in this contest. Amare Stoudemire, Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook on the floor at the same time? Yeah…lots of points.
