Nov. 30th – NBA Games
Detroit Pistons +10 ½ vs. Orlando Magic
Where: Amway Center, Orlando, Florida
When: 7:00 pm EST
Analysis: Orlando is an awesome 12 and 4 straight up but is only 6 and 10 ATS on the season. The issue appears to be that the Magic just doesn’t blow out teams. They did cover the spread versus Miami and Cleveland before barely beating the Wizards 100 to 99 as 6 ½ point road dogs. The Magic is actually 0 and 5 ATS in their last 5 games versus a team with a winning percentage below .400. The Pistons are 4 and 1 ATS in the NBA betting sportsbook in their last 5 games. I see Orlando winning the game but not beating Detroit by more than 8 points. The Pistons are a good enough team, and have a good enough defense, to keep this one close.
Over 204 ½ L.A. Lakers vs. Memphis Grizzlies
Where: FedExForum, Memphis, Tennessee
When: 8:00 pm EST
Analysis: The total in the pro basketball sportsbook on this game opened up at 203 ½. It’s already at 204 ½. I still like this game to go over. The last time these two teams met, on Nov. 2nd, the score ended up Lakers 124 and Memphis 105. A similar score should happen in Tuesday night’s game because L.A., who averages 109.5 points per game, hasn’t hit the century mark in 3 straight games. The Lakers are going to push the tempo in this one. For Memphis, the over is 5 and 1 in the Grizzlies last 6 games as a home underdog. With L.A. pushing the tempo, Memphis will have no choice but to push the tempo right back.
San Antonio Spurs -4 vs. Golden State Warriors
Where: Oracle Arena, Oakland, California
When: 10:30 pm EST
Analysis: Golden State’s style, up and down, should work right into the hands of the San Antonio Spurs who are averaging 107.2 points per game. The Spurs are 10-5-1 ATS this season. More importantly, they have beaten Golden State in 8 straight and won all 3 contests versus the Warriors last season by an average of 12 points. San Antonio should dominate the Warriors in this game from the outset and win by close to double-digits unless they just have a bad shooting night. Golden State knows no other way to play than trying to score as quickly as they can. That will work beautifully for the surprising run and gun Spurs.
