April 5, 2011

If you’re looking to boost the annual baseball betting bankroll just a few days into the 2011 MLB regular season, then you’re in luck BetOnline Bet MLB baseball gamblers!

I’ve got a promising Bet MLB pick for tonight that will help maximize your online baseball betting action on tonight’s modest slate of MLB action in the value-packed BetOnline baseball sportsbook.

The New York Yankees will look to extend their dominant ways over the Minnesota Twins when the two AL rivals kick off a four-game set at Yankee Stadium tonight.

MLB Odds

Minnesota Twins +1½ -130 +145

Scott Baker –R

New York Yankees -1½ +110 -165

Ivan Nova –R

Over 10 -115

Under -105

Analysis: The Minnesota Twins avoided a sweep and got their first win of the season by squeaking past the Toronto Raptors 4-3 on Sunday night while New York missed out on sweeping the Detroit Tigers in its 10-7 loss to the Tigers on Sunday.

The Twins got a home run from Danny Valencia and Denard Span in order to cash in against the MLB Odds as a +115 underdog.

Phil Hughes got bombed in allowing five earned runs on five hits in four innings as the Yankees failed to cash in against the Bet MLB Odds as a -160 favorite.

Tonight, the Twins will hand the ball to veteran right-hander Scott Baker in this contest while the Yankees counter with young right-hander Ivan Nova on the rubber.

Prediction: While the Yankees have won 11 of the last 13 meetings against the Twins and swept their AL counterparts out of the postseason just last season, I’m going to go out on a ledge just a bit and back the never-say-die Minnesota Twins tonight.

Scott Baker went 12-9 with a 4.49 ERA for the Twins in 2010 while Ivan Nova went 1-2 for new York in seven starts with a 4.50 ERA.

I suspect Nova will overthrow the ball in the first few innings as the young hurler struggles to get his adrenaline under control. Scott Bakers isn’t going to win any Cy Young award in his career, but I think he can hold the Yanks at bay long enough for his teammates to get to a few runs off of Nova.

The Twins are 5-0 in Scott Baker’s last five road starts and I’m picking them to cash in against the Bet MLB Odds Run Line while really pushing the Yankees for the outright road win.

MLB Pick: Minnesota Twins +1½ Runs
