Key Trends

  • Cougars are 4-0-1 ATS in the last 5 meetings in Texas Christian.
  • Over is 4-1 in the last 5 meetings in Texas Christian.
  • Over is 9-4 in the last 13 meetings.
  • Road team is 6-1-1 ATS in the last 8 meetings.

Analysis: The BYU Cougars (24-2 SU, 10-12 ATS) have won four straight and nine of its L/10 games overall and cashed in against the bet college basketball spread as a whopping 20-point home favorite in their 72-59 blowout of Utah on Saturday.

The TCU Horned Frogs (10-17 SU, 9-14 ATS) have lost nine consecutive games including its 69-55 loss to Colorado State as a 4-point home underdog on Wednesday while failing to cover the bet college basketball spread in three straight games and six of its last seven games overall.

Prediction: BYU has won each of the last 10 meetings against their conference counterparts coming into this contest including their 83-67 win over the Horned Frogs as a 21.5-point home favorite on Jan. 18.

The Cougars are 4-1 against the bet college basketball odds in their last five games following an ATS loss while the Horned Frogs have gone 1-6 ATS in their last seven games against their Mountain West Conference opponents.

The moneyline play may be the best wager of all in this contest, particularly if the spread is enormously high for the Cougars, but I’ve got to admit that Fredette and company could still cash in against the bet college basketball spread – if the spread doesn’t top the 21.5 points they were giving up as a home favorite last month.

With that said, I expect Fredette and the Cougars to be favored n this contest by anywhere between 12 and 15 points while narrowly covering the bet college basketball spread with a bit of room to spare – if it doesn’t go too far past 15 points.

BYU averages 14.1 points per game more than TCU while also allowing abut three fewer points per contest defensively.

NCAAB Pick: BYU 82 TCU 55
