Everyone that chooses to bet basketball knows that the MAC is a one bid league to the NCAA Tournament this year. Unfortunately, the conference probably also knows that only one team even has a chance at making it to the NIT as well, and that’s the regular season conference champion. A win for the Golden Flashes on Friday night would lock up that outright regular season title and at least guarantee a bid into the secondary postseason tournament as well as sew up the No. 1 seed in the conference.

However, there are definitely some challenges that Kent State must overcome to bet basketball successfully in this one. For one, the team has to figure out how to avoid another embarrassment on its home court like it suffered against the Ohio Bobcats to end the month of February. This loss though, was just the second of the season for the Flashes, who now boast a 13-2 SU record here at the Memorial A & C Center. The problem though, is that from an ATS standpoint, the squad is only 5-7-1 ATS.

This will be a nice battle in the post to watch as well. Kent State features Justin Greene, a kid that is leading the team both in scoring at 15.5 points per game and rebounding at 8.3 boards per game. On the other side of the court, Akron has Nikola Cventinovic, who is good for 12.4 points and 6.4 boards per game.

Both of these teams have remarkably similar resumes in terms of scoring and scoring against, as both are outscoring their foes by margins in the low 70s against the mid to high 60s.

Earlier this season, Akron swiped a 65-62 win on the back of 20 points and 11 boards from Zeke Marshall and 19 off of the bench by Brett McKnight. However, the Flashes stuck inside the number for those who bet basketball on the game. Don’t be shocked if there is a relatively similar result in the opposite direction on Friday night.

Kent State just has too much on the line to give out a total dud this week. Bet basketball with the Golden Flashes for sure on Friday.

SLAM THE GOLDEN FLASHES!
