Best NCAAF Picks for Saturday Parlay
November 6, 2010
Two of the Best NCAAF picks for this Saturday are the Hawaii/Boise State game and Southern Methodist/Texas-El Paso contest, so why not parlay them together and make it an even bigger pay day.
No one is giving Hawaii much of a chance as they come in as 21-point underdogs, but they’ve put together a solid season so far and I feel have a chance to at least keep this one close.

As for the SMU/UTEP contest, this is a big game for both clubs as the winner will be bowl eligible. And although they have identical records, the Mustangs come in as a 6 ½ point road favourite, which will be no problem in my estimation.
Hawaii Warriors vs. Boise State Broncos – (Bronco Stadium – Boise, ID)
Saturday November 6th – 3:30 PM ET
TV: ESPNU
This Hawaii squad may not get a ton of exposure playing in the WAC and the fact that they are on the island, but they are a good football team. Just ask Idaho or their previous five opponents as they took out the Vandals 45-10 last week, pushing their winning streak to six games and their conference record to 5-0.
A big reason for the success has been the play of Bryant Moniz, the Warriors QB. Against Idaho he was on point, completing 27 of 38 for 326 yards and three touchdowns, and also added 43 rushing yards and a TD.
Best NCAAF Picks Spread:
Hawaii – PS +21 (-110) ML +750
Boise State – PS -21 (-110) ML -1200
Total – 66
Moniz is going to have his hands full against a talented Broncos defence, but he has great escape ability and will be able to make plays despite the pocket breaking down in front of him.
The Warriors defence will also need show up like they did the past two weeks. The held Utah State and Idaho to a combined 17 points, and although they won’t be able to fully contain Boise, I feel they do enough to keep this within reason.
SMU Mustangs vs. UTEP Miners – (Sun Bowl – El Paso, TX)
Saturday November 6th – 9:05 PM ET
TV: Time Warner Texas
This is a big game for both clubs as the winner will find themselves in a bowl game in the near future, while the other will find themselves on a couch watching a bowl game in the near future. Obviously motivation won’t be a factor on Saturday, but what will be a factor is a play of Kyle Padron, SMU’s quarterback.
Padron has been having a monster season as his 22 touchdown passes will indicate, good for third in the nation. On the year he is averaging 304.9 yards per game of offence which ranks him 11th in the country and unlike many of these hybrid quarterbacks in the league these days, he does it almost all with his arm.
Best NCAAF Picks Spread:
SMU – PS -6 ½ (-110) ML -255
UTEP – PS +6 ½ (-110) ML +215
Total – 54 ½
UTEP has a pretty solid defence, but just doesn’t have the type of offensive potential that SMU brings to the table. Padron is going to have this team marching and UTEP won’t be able to do enough to keep this one within a touchdown. So the Best NCAAF Pick is on SMU to cover the spread.
Best NCAAF Picks Parlay: Hawaii (+21), SMU (-6 ½)
