New Orleans Saints -10.5

Over/Under 44.5

Analysis: I’m not going to beat around the bush with my analysis on this contest as gridiron gamblers everywhere likely know the defending-champion New Orleans Saints (11-5 SU, 7-9 ATS) will not lose this game to a clearly inferior Seattle Seahawks (7-9 SU, 7-9 ATS) team that had to win its regular season finale just to get into the postseason.

The only question surrounding this contest is whether or not the Saints can cash in against the value-packed football sportsbook odds as one of the best early NFL playoff bets during Wild Card weekend.

Both teams in this matchup have recorded identical 7-9 ATS records this season – and neither ballclub is coming in on much of a hot streak when it comes to covering the spread with both teams compiling identical 2-4 ATS over their last six games.

The Saints have managed to bounce back nicely from an ATS loss by going 4-1 ATS in their last five games following an ATS loss.

New Orleans has also posted an impressive 10-4 ATS mark in their last 14 road games against a team with a losing home record while going 5-2 ATS in their last seven games against their NFC counterparts.

The bad news for football betting backers that like New Orleans as one of the best early NFL playoff bets is the fact that the Saints are just 1-8 ATS versus a team with a losing record and 1-6 ATS in their last seven games in the month of January.

The Seahawks have posted a polar-opposite 4-1 ATS mark in their last five games in January, but that’s about where the good news ends for gridiron gamblers that are thinking of backing Seattle as one of the best early NFL playoff bets.

Seattle has recorded a dismal 1-6 ATS mark in their last seven games following an ATS win while going just 5-16 ATS in their last 21 games following an SU win.

The Favorite is 4-1 ATS in their last five meetings between these teams and the Saints have a combined scoring differential of 10.8 points (4.6 on offense, 6.2 on defense) which should be just enough to cover the spread in this matchup.

I also want to advise BetOnline gridiron gamblers everywhere to strongly consider playing the Over as one of the best early NFL playoff bets around as it has gone 5-1-1 in the Saints’ last seven playoff games, a perfect 5-0 in Seattle’s last five games against a team with a winning record and incendiary 8-1 in Seahawks last nine games overall.
