Basketball Odds Betting – Roll With Oklahoma and Missouri Tonight
March 10, 2011
Even without their star player, the Oklahoma Sooners dominated in their opening game of the Big 12 Tournament, defeating the Baylor Bears 82-67.
Now Oklahoma gets the chance to face their archrival, the Texas Longhorns, tonight at 7 PM on ESPN 3.
Following that game, Texas A&M will begin its Big 12 Tournament play against the Missouri Tigers at 9:30 on ESPN 2.

Oklahoma Sooners (14-17) vs. Texas Longhorns (25-6)
Thursday, March 10 at 7:00 PM ET
Sprint Center, Kansas City, Missouri
TV: ESPN 3
Basketball Odds Betting: Texas Longhorns -13.5, Oklahoma Sooners +13.5, Game Total: 131 points
Despite their impressive performance over Baylor, the Sooners will have to outplay themselves tonight to get a chance to beat Texas. In the two regular season matchups, the Longhorns dominated the Sooners, winning by 20 and 17 points respectively.
Texas is looking for a win in the Big 12 Tournament after losing the Big 12 regular season title to Kansas. For Texas to get a potential No. 1 seed in the upcoming NCAA tournament, they must handle the Big 12.
The basketball odds for this game have Texas as the 13.5-point favorite and the game total at 131 points. I don’t think the oddsmakers have given the Sooners enough respect here. Although Texas is the better team, and has proven to be able to control the Sooners this season, such a large spread in such a big game is risky. A large spread in fierce rivalry basketball is risky.
Although I expect Texas to win the game and advance to the Finals of the Big 12 Tournament, be cautious with such a large spread over the Sooners tonight.
Basketball Odds Betting Pick – Take the Sooners +13.5
Basketball Odds Betting
Texas A&M Aggies (23-7) vs. Missouri Tigers (23-9)
Thursday, March 10 at 9:30 PM ET
Sprint Center, Kansas City, Missouri
TV: ESPN 2
Basketball Odds Betting: Texas A&M Aggies +3, Missouri Tigers -3, Game Total: 137 points
Missouri meets third-seed Texas A&M in the second round of the Big 12 Tournament after knocking off Texas Tech. The Aggies will be well rested due to their first-round bye.
The basketball odds for this game have the Tigers as the three-point favorites, and the game total at 137 points.
The Missouri defense, which has caused trouble for its opponents all season, was a non-factor against the Aggies during the regular season, as Texas A&M only committed nine turnovers the entire game. Also, note that the Tigers will struggle to stop the Aggies’ main-man Khris Middleton, the team’s lead scorer with an average of 14.4 points per game.
In the regular season game between these two teams, the Aggies won the game at home in overtime. Apparently, these two teams can fight down to the wire, and tonight’s game for a spot in the Big 12 Tournament semifinals will be no different.
It’s likely that with their momentum from the big win over Texas Tech and the home-state advantage, the Tigers could capitalize to win this game and cover outright.
Basketball Odds Betting Pick – Take the Tigers -3
