Basketball Betting Parlay Picks – Road Favorites In East Look Solid

April 26, 2010

Rarely will I advise you parlay any pair of NBA playoff bets together, but tonight’s Eastern Conference playoff matchups are too attractive for me to ignore. The Orlando Magic will look to close the series against Charlotte in a sweep, while Atlanta pays a visit to Milwaukee after getting creamed in Game 3. Needless to say, I love the road favorites tonight.

Orlando Magic -4.0 over MILWUAKEE BUCKS

Dwight Howard has been the focal point of the backstage tinkering of the Orlando Magic. It goes without saying that the Magic will go only as far as Dwight can take them, and throwing unnecessary elbows in the paint will do less to secure him the ball and much more to put him in foul trouble. The lesson has been learned by Howard, and though that won’t force him to play conservative, it’ll also force the Bobcats to find another plan of attack.

Vince Carter has been useless on the stat sheet, averaging just 13.7 points in 36.0 minutes on average in three games during this series. Jameer Nelson has more than made up for Carter’s inadequacies, putting up 25.7 points per game, including two 32-point efforts in Game 1 and 3. Carter may be the new kid on the block, but this team still belongs to Nelson and Howard.

The Bobcats simply haven’t had the scoring punch to keep up with Orlando, and the fact that only two players have breached the 20-point ceiling in three games speaks volumes. Gerald Wallace dropped 25 in Game 1 and Jackson came up with 27 points in Game 2. They simply don’t have that slasher scorer needed to compliment their toughness. Orlando can control every facet of this game, so it’s a NBA betting lock for them to sweep.

Atlanta Hawks -1.5 over MILWUAKEE BUCKS

The Bucks, simply put, played a kitchen sink game in Game 3 which they won by 18-points and spoiled the chance of a sweep by Atlanta. Brandon Jennings only scored 13-points, but the team shot 51.3 percent from the field and had six players score in doubles to swamp the Hawks.

That won’t happen again. The Hawks have been a questionable team on the road, but getting the road jitters off the plate in Game 3 now makes them poised to takeover this series again. They shot as bad they possible could have in that game. With just a 39.1 percent average from the field, a 3-of-15 effort from long range and a paltry 72 percent from the line, the Hawks fell short in every way possible in that match up.

If you really think that’s going to happen again, then you’re dreaming. The Hawks are just 2-7 SU in their last 9 games on the road, but against Milwaukee they’ve played extremely well against the basketball betting line. The Hawks are 4-1 ATS in their past 5 games against the Bucks and while I love the way the home team played in Game 3, I just don’t see that happening again. The Bucks are too young and thirsty to lose in a sweep, but the Hawks will put them in dire straits when they go up 3-1 in the series.

Furious NBA Parlay Betting Pick – Orlando -4.0 and Atlanta -1.5
