Baseball Betting Line – Rockies, Giants, Square Off In Division Showdown
May 2, 2010
The Colorado Rockies and San Francisco Giants will both be looking to cover the MLB betting line and hand their division rivals a loss when they take to the field at AT&T Park today at 4 PM ET.

Rockies (11-11 SU, 12-10 RL)
Giants (12-9 SU, 13-8 RL)
Colorado won three of five entering its series opener against Frisco while the Giants had won four of its last six heading into Friday night.
Colorado 411
Rockies are 5-0 in their last 5 during game 2 of a series.
Rockies are 4-1 in their last 5 vs. a team with a winning record.
After putting two starters on the DL in talented left-hander Jorge De La Rosa (torn tendon band in his left middle finger) and right-hander Jason Hammel (groin strain), Colorado is expected to recall right-hander Esmil Rogers to make the start.
Rogers, who made just one start last year, but recorded a fine 2.25 ERA in three appearances out of the bullpen with the big league ballclub this season before being sent down to Triple-A Colorado Springs when the Rockies activated Joe Beimel.
San Francisco 411
Giants are 6-2 in their last 8 home games vs. a team with a losing road record.
Giants are 12-4 in their last 16 home games.
Giants are 0-4 in their last 4 vs. National League West.
Giants are 9-2 in Cain’s last 11 starts following a team loss in their previous game.
Giants are 1-4 in Cain’s last 5 home starts.
Giants are 0-5 in Cain’s last 5 starts vs. National League West.
After opening the season with three consecutive quality starts, The Giants’ Matt Cain took a loss in his last start against the St. Louis Cardinals on Sunday despite limiting Albert Pujols and company to two runs one six hits in five innings of a 2-0 loss.
Analysis: Despite Matt Cain’s surprising lack of success against the Rockies in his career, I like the San Francisco Giants to win this contest and easily cover the MLB Run Line by smacking around Colorado starter Esmil Rogers and getting another fine performance from Cy Young-caliber hurler Matt Cain.
