Back the Kansas State Wildcats in Huge Battle Against 21st-ranked Missouri Tigers

February 26, 2011

The Missouri Tigers (22-6 SU, 12-11 ATS) will look to slow down incendiary All-American Jacob Pullen and cash in against the college hoops odds when they invade Manhattan, Kansas to face the similarly streaking Kansas State Wildcats (19-9 SU, 9-13 ATS) in a Big 12 contest that will likely have NCAA Championship Tournament implications for both ballclubs.

  • Over is 8-3 in the last 11 meetings.

Analysis: Missouri has won four straight games including its impressive 77-59 rout of Baylor on Wednesday. Thee Tigers have cashed in against the college hoops odds in two straight games and three of four overall.

Kansas State has won three straight, including its narrow 61-57 win over Nebraska on Wednesday. The Tigers got a game-high 27 points from senior guard Jacob Pullen who, coincidentally, was named the U.S. Basketball Writers Association (USBWA) Oscar Robertson National Player of the Week on Tuesday after averaging 32.5 points in wins over No. 1 Kansas and Oklahoma last week.

Prediction: Missouri has won three of their last four Big 12 matchups against K-State including its 75-59 home win over the Wildcats on Jan. 17 as a 4.5-point home favorite.

Nevertheless, K-State is my pick in this contest as they’ve won six straight home games over the Tigers dating back to 2005 and seven of its L/10 home games against the Tigers overall.

Missouri had lost three straight Big 12 road games before beating Iowa State 76-70 last Saturday to cash in against the college hoops odds as a 4.5-point road favorite.

The Tigers have gone just 2-5 against the college hoops odds on the road this season while the Wildcats have gone 6-3 against the college hoops odds on its home floor this season.

Jacob Pullen has scored 27 points in each of his last two games after exploding on Kansas for a whopping 38 points on Valentine’s Day and I like him to lead the K-State Wildcats to a narrow SU win and BetOnline moneyline payday!
