AFC Win Totals – Regular Season Win Totals for Every AFC Team

September 4, 2010

Are the Indianapolis Colts going to win double digit games for the umpteenth time in 2010?

How about the almost equally-consistent San Diego Chargers?

Will the addition of Anquan Bolding be enough to boost the Baltimore Ravens to a Super Bowl title or will the outspoken Rex Ryan lead his New York Jets a bit further than they did when they reached the AFC title tilt in 2009?

This analysis and breakdown on each AFC team’s Regular Season Wins Odds in the bettor-friendly BetOnline Football Sportsbook will help devoted NFL gamblers everywhere cash in with a multitude of win total picks on every team in the AFC.

New York Jets O/U 9.5
I like the Jets and their chances to reach the AFC title game for the second straight season, but I have to admit that their tough schedule, particularly their non-division games against Baltimore, Minnesota, Green Bay, Cincinnati and Pittsburgh, could spell trouble. Nevertheless, I think New York’s final two games at Chicago and Buffalo will help the reach 10 wins and an Over outcome for this Futures wager.

New England Patriots O/U 9.5
Play the Over for the Patriots out of the AFC east as well NFL gamblers. I think the Pats are going to be on a mission to surpass their one-and-done postseason appearance form last season.

Miami Dolphins O/U 8.5
Miami’s eight non-conference games against the AFC and NFC North could very well give them six losses alone in 2010 – and what I now believe is going to be an 8-8 record. Play the Under.

Buffalo Bills O/U 5.5
I fully believe the Bills are going to finish with less 5.5 wins for the same reason I like the Dolphins to play Under their O/U total. Their eight non-conference games against the NFC and AFC North division, is absolutely treacherous.

San Diego Chargers O/U 10.5
Are you kidding me? This O/U total is an absolute lock for a Chargers team that is clearly the cream of the crop in one of the most mediocre divisions in all of football. I think it’s quite possible the Bolts could get off to a perfect 6-0 start en route to easily covering the Total here with a minimum of 11 wins.

Denver Broncos O/U 7.5
While I’m not expecting the Broncos to be world-beaters or anything like that, I do like the Broncos to at least duplicate their 8-8 season from 2009 which should have been a lot better considering they got off to a perfect 6-0 start last season.

Oakland Raiders O/U 5.5
While I’m sure the Raiders are going to be better under Jason Campbell than they ever were under JaMarcus Russell and Oakland managed to win five games last season. I like Oakland to record six wins exactly in 2010, so play the Over here.

Kansas City Chiefs O/U 6.5
I really like young head coach Todd Haley, but I could find seven wins on the Chiefs’ 2010 schedule if I searched with a microscope! Play the Under pro football bettors.

Baltimore Ravens O/U 10
I like the Ravens and I believe they are going to be legitimate Super Bowl contenders, but after looking at their insanely treacherous regular season schedule, I just can’t guarantee 11 wins and an Over here. Best to play it safe and go with the Under as the Ravens not only have four tough division games against Pittsburgh and Cincinnati, but several more non-division contests against the Jets, Patriots, Dolphins, Falcons and Texans that won’t be a walk in the park.

Cincinnati Bengals O/U 8
With an improved offense – and a defense that was on of the best in the league last year, I’m surprised the Bengals are looking at a 9 or 10-win O/U total, but hey, I say take Cincinnati and ride them all the way to nine wins at the least and an easy Over against the NFL Futures Odds.

Pittsburgh Steelers O/U 8.5
I like the Steelers and the chip they have on their collective shoulder coming into the regular season, but I think the four-games Ben Roethlisberger will have to sit out at the minimum, could cost the Steelers a shot at nine wins. Believe it or not, I think the Under is the right pick for Pittsburgh.

Indianapolis Colts O/U 10.5
Thanks to a seven-game season-opening stretch against teams that didn’t make the playoffs last season, the Colts will reach at least 11 regular season wins in 2010 and an easy Over outcome here.

Tennessee Titans O/U 8.5
The Titans managed to go 8-2 under the direction of Vince Young after getting off to a 0-6 start under veteran Kerry Collins and I believe they can reach nine wins this season thanks to non-conference home dates against Oakland, Denver, Philadelphia and Washington.

Houston Texans O/U 8
I really happy the Texans pulled off their first winning record in franchise history by going 9-7 last season, but I’m not too sure the Texans can duplicate their feat from a season ago after looking at their treacherous 2010 schedule. I hate to say it, but I think Houston is looking at another 8-8 campaign this coming regular season.

Jacksonville Jaguars O/U 7
The Jags have the distinct look of a team that is going to be mediocre on both sides of the ball in 2010 while staying Under their NFL Futures Odds Total for this wager with six wins at best.
