AFC Playoffs Watch – Big Ben Knows What Time it Is
January 22, 2011
This AFC Playoffs Championship game is going to come down to that old boring friend, experience. I hate to fall back on something so simple, but with Ben clocking so many teams in past playoffs, he knows what to do.
I think your boy Mark Sanchez is going to have a long, loooong, looooooooooong day against a GREAT defense. They’re not a great team, and if it were anybody but the Jets, I would say Steelers LOSE.
#6 New York Jets (13-5) at #2 Pittsburgh Steelers (13-4) – Sunday, January 23 at 6:30 ET CBS-TV

Heinz Field (65,050) – Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
AFC Playoffs Lines:
New York Jets (11-7 ATS) +3 ½ (ML +160)
Pittsburgh Steelers (11-6 ATS) -3 ½ (ML -190)
Over/Under Total – 38 ½
Roethlisberger completed 23 of 44 passes for 264 yards, zero interceptions and a touchdown. If he puts up those kinds of statistics in this one, they will come away with a win this time.
The Jets are coming off two incredible wins as underdogs to the Colts and Patriots. This defense took down the two premiere quarterbacks in the league, Peyton Manning and Tom Brady. That’s (Dice Clay) unbelievable.
Coach Mike Tomlin has pounded through these AFC Playoffs for two Super Bowl Rings already, and I’ll bet he doesn’t give the Jets an Underdog Hat Trick……then again I said pretty much the same thing the last 2 weeks and was wrong.
Troy Polamalamalama is much better than he was the last 2 weeks, and I expect him to salt up Senor Sanchez’ game.
You just can’t win games against Pittsburgh running the ball (or can you). Sanchez may have his confidence up, but there’s no way he even gets by the first half without at least one Pick.
The Steelers, on the other foot, plan on running against the Jets like they did last game for 146 yards. They really need to if Ben expects to have some success against that secondary.
Darrelle Revis and Antonio Cromartie aren’t going to allow much room for error, so Big Ben may be better off bumbling, stumbling and rumbling (not fumbling) to get some first downs.
Actually, they probably win the game if they have 150 yards on the ground. I think they will. I also say the Jets are held to under 100 yards rushing in what will be the last of their AFC Playoffs games.
Roethlisberger is 9-2 as a playoff starter including 2 Super Bowl Trophies. I don’t think he gets a Super Bowl win this year, but I’m pretty sure they get by the road-weary Jets this week without too much trouble.
AFC Playoffs LOCK – FIRE on Pittsburgh -3.5 over New York Jets
