#4 Pitt vs. #10 ‘Nova Highlight Basketball Betting Action on Saturday Evening

Tennessee Volunteers (15-9) at #19 Florida Gators (19-5)

Where:  Stephen C. O’Connell Center, Gainesville, Florida

When: 6:00 pm EST

Fair Basketball Odds:  Tennessee +6 ½         

Analysis:  Florida has won three games in a row, covering the basketball betting spread in 2 out of the 3 games, beating Vanderbilt, Kentucky and South Carolina.  The Gators needed overtime to beat the Tennessee Volunteers the last time the two teams battled, however, in an 81 to 75 victory.  The Vols have lost 2 games in a row to Alabama and Kentucky.  When a Bruce Pearl team has their back against the wall, is when they’re most dangerous.  I feel that the Vols might be worth a wager to beat the Gators straight up on the NCAA moneyline because Pearl is going to get them ready to play on Saturday. 

#6 San Diego State Aztecs (24-1) at UNLV Runnin’ Rebels (18-6)

Where:  Thomas and Mack Center, Las Vegas, Nevada

When:  8:00 pm EST

Fair Basketball Odds:  UNLV +6 ½         

Analysis:  UNLV was the team that everybody was talking about to start the season from the MWC.  San Diego State has turned into one of the top teams in the nation, and one of the best teams to back against the college online basketball odds, but I feel that SDSU is vulnerable on February 12th.  UNLV lost by 14 points, 64 to 78, to BYU two games ago, but that game was in Provo.  The Rebels beat TCU 94 to 79 in their last and they understand that if they’re to have any shot of getting a bid to the NCAA Tournament, they’re going to have to upset a Top 10 team like San Diego State.  I’m not sure that they’ll beat the Aztecs straight up on Saturday, but I am pretty sure that the Rebels will make the game interesting.  

#4 Pittsburgh Panthers (22-2) at #10 Villanova Wildcats (19-5)

Where:  The Pavilion, Villanova, Pennsylvania

When:  9:00 pm EST

Fair Basketball Odds:  Pittsburgh +3 ½               

Analysis:   This is a huge, huge game on Saturday night.  The Pittsburgh Panthers are looking to secure a #1 seed in the NCAA Tournament.  A victory over Villanova would certainly help.  ‘Nova could potentially grab a #1 seed with a victory over Pittsburgh and some luck the rest of the way.  There’s something about this Pittsburgh team that basketball online odds bettors have to like.  Even though they don’t always cover spreads, they always, always, come up big in the huge games. So, when they’re a dog in the sportsbook, hoops handicappers should definitely take notice.  They should be a dog on Saturday.
