#19 North Carolina Likely Huge Sports Betting Fave vs. Boston College on Saturday
February 19, 2011
The #19 North Carolina Tar Heels figure to be a huge sports betting favorite versus the Boston College Eagles on Saturday, February 19th.
NC has done enough to get back into the Top 25 this season. They almost certainly will garner a berth to the NCAA Tournament, unless they absolutely implode, but Roy Williams’ squad wants to get a 6th seed or better. That means that NC needs to continue to win impressively.

Most sports betting handicappers won’t give the Boston College Eagles much shot against the North Carolina Tar Heels on Saturday. Why should they? BC was flat out decimated the last time these two teams faced each other, earlier this month, in BC.
The Tar Heels did a number on the Eagles in that game. As only 2 ½ point road favorites, NC scored 106 points. They held the Eagles to only 74 points for a 32 point victory. At halftime, the score was Tar Heels 49 and BC 35. North Carolina outscored the Eagles 57 to 39 in the second half.
North Carolina shot an incredible 57.4% from the field. They put up an amazing 68 shots. They put up another 21 three-pointers and made 11 of those. Sports betting basketball handicappers shouldn’t convince themselves that NC is going to be that good again on Saturday, but the Tar Heels probably won’t need to be.
Even though BC has been very good versus the spread lately, they’ve played against suspect teams. Virginia Tech, Clemson and Maryland are okay. They’re not as good as NC, though, that’s for sure. The Tar Heels managed to lose a 16 point lead to Duke in a 73 to 79 loss, but besides that game, NC has been awesome.
The 64 to 62 victory over Clemson wasn’t great, but that win occurred on the road and NC bounced back from the close game to score a magnificent 78 to 64 win over Wake Forest. All good reasons to back the Tar Heels versus the sports betting spread on Saturday, but the real reason that NC is the team to go with on Saturday is because BC just doesn’t match up well with North Carolina.
BC prefers to push the pace more often than not as evidenced by them allowing teams to score, on average 71 and the Eagles scoring 73 points per game on average. A quick paced game is exactly what the Tar Heels want.
North Carolina is the team to back against the spread on Saturday, February 19th.
