November 17, 2010

Are Mike Vick and the Philadelphia Eagles the NFL’s Best?
Yes, they are! The Eagles may not have the best record in the league right now with Atlanta, New England and the New York Jets all sitting at 7-2, but if you ask me, I’m thinking the Birds are the best team in the league – at least until someone finds a way to stop Michael Vick, who, coincidentally, is playing the best football of his career.
Are the Atlanta Falcons for real?
Yes, they are! The first person I’d vote for MVP after Vick is Falcons gifted quarterback Matt Ryan. At the time of this writing, the Falcons ranked an identical eighth in offense and defense and those are numbers that could lead to a Super Bowl appearance.
When do the Vikings make the switch to Tavaris Jackson?
With one more loss! If the Vikings don’t turn over the reins to Jackson once they’ve exhausted all real hope for a postseason berth, they (meaning Brad Childress) really deserve every negative thing that comes their way.
Will the Real Pittsburgh Steelers Please Stand Up?
After going 3-1 in four games without Ben ‘Rapelisberger’ the Steelers are just 3-2 in five games with their starting quarterback and haven’t looked very good at all in dropping two of its last three games – and putting on a lackluster performance in its lone win over the lowly Bengals. Pittsburgh was really exposed in its 39-26 loss to New England in Week 10 and now has some serious issues to address moving forward. Talk about a Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde team!
Can ‘Bad Boy’ Brady Lead Pats to Promised Land?
Maybe! Tom Brady is generally as cool, calm and collected as any quarterback I’ve ever seen, but he clearly took his approach to another level in last week’s dominating win over Pittsburgh, getting as fired up and vocal with his teammates as anyone has ever seen – and it worked!
Can the Cowboys Run the Table?
Hell no! The Dogs … er, I mean, ‘Boys, flat-out quit on Wade Phillips and I don’t think their blowout win over the Giants means they will run the table and miraculously reach the playoffs with a 9-7 record. Dallas showed its true colors under Phillips and I believe that same uninspired team will rear its ugly head again before very long.
What’s Up With Indy?
After starting the season 2-2 in its first four games, the Colts have gone 4-1 SU over its last five, but if you’ve been paying attention, you’ll know the Colts aren’t playing very well heading into NFL week 11. Maybe I shouldn’t be making a big deal out of Indy’s inconsistency, seeing as how they are ranked a pitiful 27th in rushing – and 29th in stopping the run!
Who’s Best in NFC West?
Seattle leads the division at 5-4 heading into Week 11, but every team in the division still has a realistic shot at winning the division crown with St. Louis just one game back and the Niners and Cardinals two games back at 3-6 SU. Personally, I’m banking on Pete Carroll’s Seahawks to complete their one-season turnaround from flops to, uh .. floppers?
Is another Collapse in Store for G-Men?
No, I don’t think so. Yes, the Giants looked pathetic in their shocking loss to Dallas last week, but I suspect they’ll get their collective act together – after losing to Mike Vick and Philly in their Week 11 NFC East divisional showdown.
Which teams Will Pull off Week 11 Upsets?
Who the hell knows? No really, this has been the most topsy-turvy season that I can remember in quite some time. Nevertheless, BetOnline NFL sports betting enthusiasts should probably take a good look at Buffalo, Cleveland, Washington and Tampa Bay this weekend as all four teams will have good shots of at pulling off the outright SU upset in their respective Week 11 matchups.
